In A Decade

So, I got this from someone on LiveJournal, and I figured I would see what everyone else had to say about it.

2000 - Bought my first new car.
2001 - Bought my first personal computer.
2002 - Started a deadjournal, met a woman I fell in crush with, played a lot of Planetside.
2003 - Started a LiveJournal, found out crush woman had a daughter, went to amusement park with them, started kung fu classes, played even more Planetside.
2004 - Found out crush woman was now engaged, hurt my back so much I couldn't walk, fell in crush with much younger woman, tested for second kung fu belt, played less Planetside.
2005 - Fell in another crush with another younger woman, asked her out, got a yes, never went on date because of her reconciliation with ex, tested for another kung fu belt, played some Planetside, not much.
2006 - Started playing poker, nearly won seat in Vegas tournament by one place... Played some Planetside, and then stopped.
2007 - Won two seats in Vegas tournaments, went to Vegas, returned and had sex for first time in twelve years.
2008 - Played a lot of poker in casinos.
2009 - Bought a camera and went back to Vegas with more family, spent a lot of quality time with my sister.

2000 - Started grade 10
2001 - Started Grade 11, asked out a girl for the first time
2002 - Started Grade 12
2003 - Completed Grade 12, went on my first date
2004 - Did some remedial courses to get my diploma
2005 - Struggled to find and keep work
2006 - Same as 2005 but had sex, not once but twice for the first time ever.
2007 - Struggled to find and keep work but managed to save enough money to go to NAIT.
2008 - Completed my first year. Started but failed my second year due to a couple of suicide attempts.
2009 - Did a whole bunch of therapy and diagnostics to sort out issues. Really struggling to find and keep work.

I can't remember all that shit.

2000 - youngest savage was born. That I remember.
2007 - Spawn graduated from high school and started college that fall. Diva daughter graduated with her Masters

That's all of any real consequence that happened this decade...or at least, all that sticks out to me.

Too many friends and relations died.

Most died from age, some from accident and sudden illnesses and a few as a result of 9/11, Iraq and Afghanistan.

2000-- Exceeded $2 million in sales for the year.
2001-- Nearly quit over fight about ad campaign
2002-- Changed to current job
2003-- 2nd son born
2004-- Set up truly multi-platform network, sharing files between Macs & PCs
2005-- Moved to current apartment
2006-- Moved into new office
2007-- Began teaching after school classes
2008-- Started training then ran 1st 5k Road Race, and 2nd as well.
2009-- Finalist in "SysAdmin of the Year" Awards

Not a bad decade, if I do say so myself.

In the past decade, I survived some rough things. I lived through an addiction to prescription meds, a failed suicide attempt and a spell in rehab.

I also had some amazing experiences. I traveled across the country and back, went to Montreal, Paris and Barbados. I spent a few months in northern California and a spell in Manhattan. I met the love of my life, had the most passionate sex I've ever experienced, wrote some decent erotica, and discovered Asia Argento.
