Impeachment Thread

Next time you press charges against someone make sure to tell police:

1. I don't like him, never did. :D

2. He never did anything just wanted him arrested in case. :D

3. My nextdoor neighbor doesn't like him either and he's a lawyer! :D

4. My neighbor across the street gave me 50 bucks to call you, you want half? :D

5. Honest, I called because he might do something, just wanted to make sure we put him in jail before he does. The chief of police is my friend, so don't worry! :D

I doubt the police would lay a charge in this case, and in the other you would be kicked off the jury, so what is your point?

Oh don't try and roll your analogy over to Donald, it doesn't quite fit.

Maybe try

1 "I don't know him, I am just trying to get a meeting with him"

2 "he said I have to do him a favour before he will release his countries legally promised support"

3 "my next door neighbour, who he is friends with, is invading my turf"

4 "if I state publicly that his political opponent is a crook, I will receive my support"

5 "honest I am just a schmuck caught up in this, and I am doing nothing wrong"

See Fuzzy, you're a liar, you're not neutral at all, you're a trump hater. At least have the courage to take a side and stop hiding behind your ambiguous " I don't care one way or another" I'm a "Canadian" busybody antics. You come across as disingenuous and phony! At least Shitslinger admits he's a card carrying communist

I do not hate Trump, I have said this numerous times, I have zero respect for the guy. I take great pleasure in point out his stupidity, ( note it is HIS stupidity, not the US of A's stupidity) of which I see a lot. Now if you can't realise, that you do not have to actually hate someone, to not respect them, well that is not my problem, it is yours!

You, and others seems to think if I insult Trump, I must not respect/like the US. Not even close to the truth. I respect the US, I enjoy visiting ( working there), society wise, we share many common bonds.

As to what I wrote, that is from the Ukraine side's view. Where did I say I hate Trump in it? I never even mentioned Trump, you just read that into it.

Because I see Trump for what he is, and you see Trump for what he can deliver;
is that the basis for you stating that I hate him? I truly can't see how you can deny Trump's actions? They are right out in broad daylight for anyone with eyes willing to look, can see.

No I don't care either way, if Trump is your president or not, however I will admit, if Trump was not the President, I would have way less fun on here. ( Read that as "Yes, I like poking your buttons") I really don't think if the President was Mike Pense or even Hillary Clinton, they would make as many self crippling errors as Trump does...

America’s Mitch McConnell Problem

The United States has a problem. The Constitution of the United States has a problem. The Senate of the United States has a problem.

His name is Mitch McConnell.

He’s the Republican senator from Kentucky and the Senate majority leader, and he’s fundamentally distorting our constitutional norms and damaging the health of American politics today.

The president has been impeached by the House of Representatives and one man stands in the way of a fair trial in the Senate: McConnell.

He has promised that there would not be a fair trial on the pattern of previous impeachment trials in the Senate, with rules negotiated by the two parties that allow for both sides to call witnesses and makes their cases.

He has laid down a diktat that the matter will be dispatched with as quickly as possible, without any witnesses or new documents.

He has repeatedly promised to violate the new oath he will take to do impartial justice—as has his Judiciary Committee chair, Lindsay Graham.

No Raw Story here, just Willaim Kristol and the Republican concept of honest government Of and By the People!

Lady Justice is not a marsupial Mitch.:)

Why Is Mitch McConnell Afraid of This Man?

Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share via email Print

Senate Republicans—such as Lindsey Graham, who just bragged he is “not trying to pretend to be a fair juror”—are intent on racing through an impeachment trial. One of the reasons for this rush may be a desire to be done with impeachment before any more news connects Russian money to President Trump. We now know Rudy Giuliani’s indicted ex-business partner Lev Parnas—who paid Rudy $500,000 to do Trump’s Ukraine election meddling—had a Russian funding stream.

No wonder that, after the latest Parnas news broke last week, Graham said of the Senate trial, “I will do everything I can to make it die quickly.”

Of course he will.

Moscow Mitch doesn't want Parnas to testify that he gave Russian money to All those fuckers!:D

12/22/19

Senator Ron Johnson has another, more personal
and more selfish reason for wanting to getting this
whole thing over.

RoJo is buried up to his own neck in the scandal being not only an
accomplice and a witness. What better way to bury it than to also
be a juror? That way not only does Trump get cleared with most
of a year for people to forget before the election but he can also
clear his own name at the same time. Then he would be safe to
run for a third term, or for governor as has been rumored.

Every Trump loyalist is up to his or her neck in it.

Hey 1i... you claim to hold no water for trump. Hahaha.

You hold so much water you should volunteer to be a reservoir for the Aussies. You could extinguish their fires in a moment.

There’s nothing left for the Democrats to do now but to begin their long retreat.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, in a moment of supreme silliness, compared the House Democrat's impeachment of President Trump with the Battle of the Bulge, during Christmas 1944 when Americans overcame a surprising Nazi counterattack to ultimately prevail in World War II.

An even BETTER comparison for the speaker to have made would have been Napoleon Bonaparte in Moscow - back in 1812, after leading his Grande Armée into Russia with the expectation of forcing that nation's surrender, Napoleon campaigned for a month with NO surrender, after which the French began a long & painful retreat that ended with the loss of approximately 90 percent of Bonaparte's force and the eventual collapse of Napoleonic France.

There will be no delegation of Republican congressmen quietly slipping into the White House to urge Trump's resignation. The pattern of accuse, investigate, leak, rinse, and repeat has come to an end. The next step will be an unwinnable Senate trial followed by a long Democratic Party retreat.

There could be no more efficient takedown of the Democrats’ impeachment effort than the short 30-minute speech delivered by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell the day after Democrats passed the articles.

The often underestimated McConnell gave a great speech on Thursday, meticulously applying the U.S. Constitution and historical precedent to the facts at hand regarding the articles of impeachment the House passed on Wednesday. McConnell’s speech was both educational and wickedly fun to watch.

It’s not a constitutional crisis for a House to want more information than a president wants to give up,” McConnell said. “That’s not a constitutional crisis! It’s a routine occurrence. Separation of powers is messy—by design. Here’s what should have happened... either the president and Congress negotiate a settlement - or the third branch of government, the judiciary, addresses the dispute between the other two.”

What the Democrats are trying to say, in effect, is that if the president asserts his constitutional rights, it’s just that much more evidence that he’s guilty. The weakness of the Democrats’ case is demonstrated by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s calls to supplement the House’s shoddy work with new Senate-led investigations. And now, McConnell observed, it appears that the House is too afraid to send its own articles of impeachment to the Senate where they rightly fear they will lose their case.

Nancy Pelosi was shell-shocked. Watching her stammer during her own news conference just a few minutes after McConnell's, a friendly reporter asked her whether the Republicans might accuse the House of playing games by holding onto the impeachment articles too long. Pelosi mumbled something about needing to know Senate trial procedures before she could even appoint House managers. It’s a nonsense argument that even she can’t explain. The Democrats have their impeachment, but there will be no Trump surrender. There’s nothing left for the Democrats to do now but to begin their long & painful retreat.

Oh Dump you are deluded!

Nancy is holding Mocscow Mitch's feet tot the fire either he honours his oath of office or he can go fuck his Senate Majority off. If Nancy blames the Rethug's for not holding a fair trial to adjudicate the Articles of Impeachment, not allow the first hand minions of PeeResident Trumpski testify, then how many people will vote for a Russian puppet?

Mitch might be the Majority leader but a lot of old time Senators have a good deal of power. If say Grassley, and five more Honourable Republicans object to the Kangaroo Court how long will Mitch hold the leadership?

There are six weak sister Senators fighting to get Re-elected. The DNC won't have the Princess stealing all the money this go round.

Can Bill Barr hold back the FBI from following the money any longer?:D

If Nancy and Mitch can't come to an agreement before the election, who loses most? :)

I don't overreact to the point to where objectivity is totally lost. Trump is doing some very important things for the american people, things that I've lobbied for' for years. It's just unfortunate that it comes from a klutz. Having a military background rebooting the military, border security and comprehensive immigration are very important to me. Disposing of restrictive, unnecessary and redundant regulations is critical to infrastructure rebuild and small business growth. He took the EPA down a peg, they were in competition within its own body as to who could create more regulations, their power went unchecked for years. So if you call that carrying water, well, it is what it is. For me, it beats what the competition has to offer.

Fuzzy likes to criticize one party ( repubs ) and then preach he's neutral. He says " I don't hate Trump" and then takes every opportunity to bash him while Kissing Obama's ass. Like you, he throws out innuendo laden generalities and then says "I'm a Canadian and I don't care one way or another " but his comments show an outright preference towards one party. Personally I don't care, It's entertainment. But he's comes across as a phony, and like Phrodeau, spends his time trolling for a reaction, basically a RORBAGS style trigger bomber. I'd rather deal with cowslinger and NOBBYDOWNSOUTH. At least you know where you stand and you're always an asshole no-matter what you say, ( TOO FUNNY! ) I'd rather deal with a jerk than a disingenuous troller.

Like you I have a system of beliefs and values that have been built up over a long life time of experiences. I am lucky enough to live in a country where those beliefs and values are largely reflected in our way of life, our community, and culture. I'd be the first to say that there could be improvements, but by and large I think as a nation we do fairly well.

Why then am I interested in the USA and trump? Basically because the USA has, historically speaking, had a serious impact on us. We are minnows in international affairs and economics, we have made our way in the world as primary producers and exporters, consequently, we are strongly affected by what happens in the USA. The USA coughs, economically speaking, and we catch a cold. So I'm interested.

When the USA is lead by a person with a serious personality disorder, lies over anything and everything, ignores advice, has, at best, a ceo's understanding of economics, funds what limited economic success he has achieved by increasing an already mountainous national debt, kisses up to the "enemies" of the west, abandons allies on a whim, can't cope with science, and I could go on, as I'm sure you know, I get worried. When I find people praising this moronic excuse for a man, I react.

I also have no time for right wing trolls of whom there are several on this board, especially self promoters who regard cutting and pasting right wing garbage as intellectual achievement, and will troll them and their unthinking supporters right back, without apology.

I'll also debate issues sensibly, but I find little opportunity for this on literotica, which I guess should not surprise me.

I don't expect that any of this will change your attitude to me, but thought I'd take the opportunity to explain where I'm coming from and why I might give the impression of trolling.

Where have I kissed Obama's ass? The fact that Obama,Bush jr, Clinton, Bush sr, Reagan, Carter, Ford, Nixon, Johnson, and Kennedy were actually experienced politicians, who knew the boundaries ( I am giving Nixon some slack here, and maybe I shouldn't) and respected the constitution, should not be read that I am kissing any of their ass's!!

"I'm a Canadian and I don't care one way or another "

That is right I am, so when I say I have no vested interest in who your president is, it is an undeniable fact.

but his comments show an outright preference towards one party.

I have no preference for either the Democrats, or the Republicans. I have stated my opinion time and again, the trouble is my opinion and yours don't align. At least not on Trump, Single Payer Health care and Religion too I am sure.

Personally I don't care, It's entertainment.

That is what it is for me, though I would use the word pastime.

But he's comes across as a phony

Maybe so but I bet if I was supporting Trump, you would not be saying that.

spends his time trolling for a reaction,

Well I'd rather debate the issues, but facts are required for those....

Well a person should understand their limitations, as a famous movie actor kinda quipped in a movie.

magicalmoments writes: "Why then am I interested in the USA and trump? Basically because the USA has, historically speaking, had a serious impact on us."

The United States has had a serious impact on the entire world ever since our Judeo-Christian morality & values, our capitalist economic system, and those freedoms guaranteed to us by our U.S. Constitution all teamed-up to make America the most powerful & prosperous nation on the planet. The socialist world, however (and those dictatorships practicing socialist economics) deeply hate us and everything that our nation stands for!

"When the USA is lead by a person with a serious personality disorder..."

That's the kind of silliness you write when you get your information from watching Fake News CNN.

"When I find people praising this moronic excuse for a man, I react."

When I see the words "moronic excuse of a man" I immediately think of Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Jeffrey Epstein, Jussie Smollett, Dr. Christine Blasey-Ford, Colin Kaepernick, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and/or Adam Schiff! Oddly enough, progressives ADMIRE those weirdos!

"I also have no time for right wing trolls of whom there are several on this board..."

Jussie Smollett felt the EXACT SAME WAY as you do, and he actually staged a fake racist hate crime to make Trump supporters look bad. Why don't YOU try doing that, as well? The left hates pretty-much EVERYBODY who loves America! It's what ALL modern political-progressives do!

House demands documents from Homeland Security to investigate a ‘troubling pattern of abuse’

This Monday, House Democrats called on the Department of Homeland Security to hand over documents so they can investigate a “troubling pattern of abuse and poor treatment” of migrants in the wake of the death of a 16-year-old Guatemalan detainee, amongst other revelations, The New York Times reports.

Lawmakers are demanding to know why the teenager, who had the flu and a 103-degree fever, was sent to a holding cell for hours in his condition. Surveillance video showed the teen eventually collapsed and died in his cell.

House Oversight and Reform Committee, Carolyn B. Maloney (D-NY), questioned the conflicting explanations from Customs and Border Protection, which initially said the body of Carlos Gregorio Hernandez Vasquez was found during a welfare check. Surveillance video later revealed he was found by a cellmate.

Customs and Border Protection also haven’t explained why they ignored the directive of a nurse practitioner who asked that Hernandez Vasquez be re-evaluated and hospitalized if his condition got worse.

And why did they turn away Dr's with Flu shots for detainees?

I don't understand why the Dem's settled for two Articles when Bob gave us ten that his investigation turned up. Why didn't they add those to the list and his kiddy jails too?

As for "Obstruction" why not his rejection of the law in his Taxes to the Ways and Means committee?

Why didn't they debate each of those instances in the Judiciary hearings if only to give them another airing when folks were paying attention?

Why not throw the kitchen sink at the mother fucker?

Some people here are just pure Trump haters and I'm OK with that, but what you overlook because of your hatred is that millions of people voted for Trump and want what he brings to the table. I don't carry water for Trump, I've said that a hundred times, he exaggerates and stretches the truth no doubt, personally I wished he keep his mouth shut and conduct business quietly and behind the scenes and be more presidential, he sure puts it out there and you always know what's on his mind, but, just like Reagan, he's different and just like Reagan was he's chastised and ridiculed. I've seen it all. I lived through the Kennedy admin, political influence and assassinations ( CAMELOT DYNASTY ) a sad time in history, but they had their faults, their history, John and Robert's infidelity with 'M M', Joe Kennedy's shady business practices, worst than Trump's, but they're heros and Trump's a bum. I won't even go into the Clintons, but what I find ironic is that so many people are willing to accept their corrupt past and Trump is BAD! BAD! So when I hear fire! fire! Trump is ruining the world, I just look the other way and let them wallow in their ignorance. The American people are a fickle lot but more than fickle, they are not up to speed as an electorate, partially due to a partisan media and tend to vote with emotion rather than facts. What we need is another cold war to bring us, as a people, back together LOL!

He hasn't abandoned any allies, but whether you believe it or not the american people are sick of being used by other countries, China, NATO not paying their fair share and a whole host of other countries content to nurse on the gravy train with unfair trade policies. You have to understand that that's the perception that exist and has existed for decades.

You blame Trump for deficit spending and running up the debt, that's congresses fault. Congress has no interest in a balanced budget. We have a booming economy and increased revenue and you would think that they would take this opportunity to pay down a little debt, instead, it's reinvigorated the spending Hawks. I've preached that for years and I don't see it going away anytime soon, the ills of a two party system, can't get a budget bill passed until everybody gets what they want. As dems get farther and farther left and we lose moderate liberals, compromise is a thing of the past. Fiscal discipline is a thing of the past and has regressed back with the dinosaurs. HE COULD ALWAYS NOT SIGN A BUDGET BILL but then we would become insolvent, millions of people out of work, no military, no SS or Medicare, please spare me the entitlement bullshit, if government shuts down, really shuts down for a long period of time the shit would hit the fan.

I believe with leadership comes responsibilities. I find it hypocritical that countries accuse Trump of failing the world. Trump is not a politician by any stretch but he wants other countries to succeed on their own merits and not drain American wealth and treasure, he insist on fair labor and trade practices. Trust me when I say the conservative and liberal factions in america are behind him 100%. American blue collar types are really really tired of working hard and paying taxes only to give it away because of a developing left socialist party consisting of virtue signalling social justice warriors say its the right thing to do. 22 trillion in debt doesn't mean anything to them. Self reliance, accepting individual responsibility is going south as we progress down the road of wealth redistribution and equality for all, and with that so goes innovation. It's now become a stain on people to be successful and wealthy. Our social justice warriors like AOC, Warren and others want to punish the wealthy for being innovative. Please don't tell me about Warren, She's my senator, she's very talented when it comes to banking procedures and regulations but she went full left socialist, now, I wouldn't let her run a candy store, it would belly up in ten minutes. Our educational system is a pod system farming socialist and killing innovation. They preach equality rather than competition.

They voted for change, they are sick and tired of the same old political bullshit, promises made but never kept, sick of an immigration policy that puts illegals above its own citizens, sick of party loyalty above their own constituents, really sick of politicians apologizing to the world.

The thing that's really going to get him re-elected is the name calling, the left calling people who voted for Trump "DEPLORABLES" trust me when I say that sets their asses on fire, they feel like they're being judged by the media, elites inteligencia who have for 30+ YEARS SHOVED THEIR LOSING IDEAS AND POLICIES DOWN THEIR THROAT! There are some people that are content with the status quo and don't want change. Don't take this as I'm taking the repubs off the hook, they're just as fucking bad. This impeachment is in my opinion worst than the Nixon one. I lived through that up close and personal, Nixon committed crimes, real statutory ( criminal ) violations, a real case for removal, it doesn't exist today. Pure political Tyranny on both sides, extremely divisive, bad things said on both sides.

JackLuis writes: "Why not throw the kitchen sink at the mother fucker?"

They tried that Jack - it didn't work!

The House Democrats literally made stuff up that they could use to impeach the president, but the flimsy case they've concocted is a non-starter in the U.S. Senate. New York Democrat Chuck Schumer even wants his party to come up with an entirely NEW senate investigation, complete with entirely NEW witnesses, before that legislative body takes over the House's embarrassing clown show.

phrodeau writes: "They haven’t submitted the articles yet"

They don't WANT to submit them, phrodeau - the entire purpose of impeachment was to damage Trump's 2020 re-election hopes, and submitting their weak case to the U.S. Senate only to have it then overwhelmingly rejected would be a huge embarrassment for the Democratic Party and actually end-up HELPING Trump win next year!

So far, the process has NOT damaged Trump's political standing. He got his North American Free Trade Agreement passed through congress, obtained congressional funding for construction of his wall along the Mexican border, won the elimination of unpopular Obamacare taxes, and signed legislation to provide permanent federal funding for historically black colleges and universities, ALL of which will undoubtedly help him win big in 2020!

The "kiddy jails" we put in place by Barack Obama.

He isn't required by law to reveal his taxes and he has a lawful right to challenge a congressional subpoena to produce them in federal court, as the SCOTUS stated by taking his case.
