I think, there are a couple of things in play here.

1 is that the media has been hard at work trying to drag Trump down and in spite of their efforts he's got approx the same approval rating as most other modern Presidents at this point in his Presidency.

The 2nd is that while the Demmies are out on the sidewalk screaming, protesting, and crying, Trump is in the oval office working on behalf of the people who are quietly getting it done every day.

It's the economy stupid.

Actually, what you are describing is the economy of the stupid.

A stock market bubble based on robbing future generations of their quality of life is not "working on behalf of the people". Gutting environmental regulations and going much deeper into debt may goose the market in the short term, but anyone with half a brain understands that this cheap-trick approach to economics is just as corrupt as the rest of the impeached President's actions.

As for the results of the election, that will depend on how many voters have half a brain in the lower population states that are granted an inordinate amount of power in our archaic electoral system. There is an incredible amount of stupid and short-term-thinking people out there in Walmart nation.
