Participating

You do not have to participate in the immunity, and if you do, you don't have to accept the immunity. Pick a number between 1 and 49, then post your guess here. You can pick a number that someone else has picked, so don't worry if someone already has your number.

The number you choose will, by default, be added to the roll-over list and remain registered for you indefinitely or until you choose a different one. If you are missed by the moderator for some reason, your roll-over immunity is still qualified if you request it in an immunity thread (like this one), even in future immunity threads. You may change your roll-over at any time simply by posting a request for it. In order to make sure your roll-over applies despite moderator error, you must post the request for it in an official immunity thread.

Remember - You are responsible for your own immunities. You will not be notified that you have won and you must use your winning immunity in that week or lose it.


Winning An Immunity

If you've won an immunity, the first thing to do is make a post in this thread (and only this thread) that you've won an immunity and which category and cap level you will use it for. This is the only way you will earn the immunity. If you neglect to pick the cap level, it will be assumed you are referring to the lowest cap level available for the category you chose.

You have until 7:30 PM GMT on the following Wednesday to claim your immunity here. After that time, you have lost the immunity.

Do not edit the post after 7:30 PM GMT on Wednesday. If you do so, your immunity will be invalidated. This post is the only way we have to verify the immunity and the category and cap level you choose. Once an immunity is claimed, it cannot be erased and replaced with a submission.


An Immunity Rule Refresher:

Immunities are won based on the weekly Wednesday Lottery available here: http://lottery.merseyworld.com/

Entrants can select a single number between 1 and 49. The selected number must be posted by the entrant prior to 7:30 PM GMT on Wednesday for the number to be consider for that day's draw. You need to state which category you want your immunity in. The first 3 stories in any category is the 1st cap as shown on your score card. 2nd cap is teh next two stories in the same category, 3rd cap is a final story in that category.

If you don't post what category you want your immunity in it becomes invalid so at least do that much to start with and it will go to the 1st cap.

Also you must have at least three stories in one other category (1st cap) to make an immunity valid.
So for every immunity you claim you must have one other category where you have three stories filling the first cap.

You can look at my score card if you like I have it all done properly I believe.

This is true, except you can have as many stories or poems as you want in the third cap. I doubt this will ever happen, because it means writing so many stories in so many different categories.

You need to fill in the first cap before starting the second one. To fill a category, you need three stories or poems or an immunity in each of the 35 categories, Writing this much is an accomplishment but it has been done. To fill in the second cap, you need an immunity or two stories or poems in each category, I don't believe this has ever been done, but I may be wrong about that.

If you do have four stories in a single category, you can include the fourth one on your scorecard even though you have not filled in every other category, but you can't count any score from it.

The category rule was established before I became a mod, but I am in agreement with it. The idea of the contest is to write in a wide variety of categories, and what used to happen was people writing dozens, even hundreds of poems or stories in a single category and getting a high score from that.

But one thing you do need to do is to say in which category you want an immunity, because you are the only one who knows that.

I claim Immunity for Group Sex, but I don't have three stories on any other categories because I used them for the story contest. So maybe I can't use it.

This is not a problem. As long as you have three stories in one category at the end of the year when scores are tallied, you will be alright.
