Image shack issues at Lit.

Does anyone have any info on what is going on with this

I have used Image shack for years & never had any difficulties before. Is this from image shack or Lit. ?

Any info would be helpful, opinions not that much.

Apparently ImageShack is refusing to continue to link any pics from their site to Lit...because of all the porn. All ImageShack pic links, porn or not, have been deactivated here.

I sent an email to them asking if they planned to sort out the non-porn linkages...no response yet.

I can see all the image host sites doing this as porn is prohibited by the TOS but is sooooooooooooo prevalent it would near be i mpossible to sort through it. I'll bump a thread for some options.

I ask because I couldn't access the image above -- http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/1330/furnituredd3.jpg directly from another window/website that image shack shouldn't have blocked.

The problem does seem to originate with Imageshack, whether it's a problem or a deliberate blockage.

I've used Photobucket successfully - well, not at first. When I first got an account I got booted because of the porn and had to start a new account. So far they haven't bothered me and I've heard from others here on Lit that they have an extensive collection and haven't had any trouble.

If you read through the ImageShack TOS, buried way down in the text, there's a mention of not allowing hotlinks from a site that allows adult-rated images. My animated YinYang symbol was previously hosted by ImageShack even though it isn't adult-rated, because Lit has 'em.

If you have a non-adult image, Photobucket.com still seems to work.

That may be true, but it doesn't explain why the non-porn images were blocked from the non-porn site I tried to hotlink them to and most of them couldn't be accessed directly.

The problem may well be related to violations of the TOS clause, but it's not just Lit where images are blocked.
