I'm republican and proud of it.
I know there's issues within my party I do not agree with but EVERY political party has issues.
I choose to stand with my party and make changes from within.

Republican. Lesbian. In favor of a womans right to choose. Believes that the USA should provide military support to nations leading to democracy. Believes gun control is a bad thing. Believes delivery of medication to a population in need in a timely manner is RIGHT (versus waiting umpteen years and letting many more die while the government sticks it's thumb up its ass), ect... ect..ect...ect.
Sometimes I get so sick of the hatred that political parties spew.

My family plays a game: political bashing. It's fun. We look for things that are so over the top Right or Left wing and then send them to each other. Then we sit back and try to trump each other with a more outrageous email. It's a fun way to make fun of our political differences. Seriously debating politics... that's taboo in my family.
We'd have to lock all the guns up.

Last Sunday we spent the day together. As we pulled up in the driveway, we were coaching our children. "Okay, you two. We do NOT discuss the president today - no jokes. We do not make fun of anything that is happening politically. No references to anything. We are entering Republican territory now - people who voted for Bush - keep a lid on your personal views until we leave."
I'm completely serious.

Well a game is just that...a game.
But when folks use propaganda do divide no one wins.
I think it's it time we all grew up and and come together and discuss differences in a logical, compassionate manner.
When we decide that to put up fences and spit on the persons on the other side everyone loses.
Stop the devisiveness.....Stop the hatred just because someone doesn't believe EXACTLY as you do.

I'm technically a Libertarian. Libertarian/Lesbian, we could make it work.
No kidding. The grade-school level argument of that video is fairly indicative of the opinions of many democrats. Apparantly all Republicans:
1) Hate the environment
2) Hate black people
3) Hate gay people
4) Love war
5) Think people should die from a lack of big government socialism/regulation
6) Think the constitution is a hinderance to police officers
The rhetoric the left spews, aside from being incredibly juvenile, is ostentatiously ignorant.
Let me give you a good example regarding regulation. A statist on the left will say, "We need the FDA to protect us from bad drugs from drug companies," but the sad fact is that the only thing the FDA does is kill people who have to wait for drugs. Beta blockers took 7 years to test before the FDA gave its glorious stamp of approval, but what most people don't realize is that the drug could've saved 119,000 people's lives AND it would have a lower cumulative price by a factor of 550,000,000 dollars.
Despite all the regulation, what does the FDA end up doing half the time? They pull perfectly good products like Vioxx because a few people die. The vast majority of people who took vioxx recieved many benefits of a painfree, or virtually painfree, life. But now that the FDA has brought it off the market, many of these same people are suffering.
It all goes back to the 19th century and Romanticism. Without going into too much depth, these "liberals" think they can use the power of the state to concoct some sort of socialist utopia where there aren't any sick people, no one commits crime, and governments are the savior of man, not God or religion, or the individual...
Bow to the state for it is the only way, the only truth, and the only light! No one will enter into peace and prosperity but through it!

Did you say this when right-wing talk show hosts first appeared? Did you say this when Fox News came up with its slanted "fair and balanced" propaganda? Did you say this when the Swift Boat veterans tried to throw mud on Kerry? How about the rumors that Obama was Islamic and a terrorist? I could go on and on, but really, the Republican Party is reaping what it's sowed.
Shouting ENOUGH! comes across to me as the pot calling the kettle black...unless you've shouted "ENOUGH" each and every time your own party has done this--and done this in ways far worse, viciously, appallingly for eight years than this video.
Two wrongs don't make a right, but it sounds to me like you're creating a double standard here. I mean, I'd love it if both parties would be civil and honest and I don't think most Americans want more of this shit. But it takes two to stop it, and Republicans hardly showed restraint or a willingness to do so in the last election.

I take it so seriously because the 20th century basically discredited socialism and communism as it vanquished over 100 million people, and yet people in this country (Stalin called them "useful idiots") still fight for it, paradoxically, as if it is some sort of Lockean natural right.
Don't get me wrong, Republicans have their faults and failings, but the cumulative effects of their policy decisions from Lincoln to Reagan have led this country down a much better path.
