People in a suburban Atlanta community have their thongs in a bunch over plans to locate a retail outlet nearby that would sell (Arrggghhhhh!!!!) sex toys. They're also concerned that this store will sell videos that show people (OhmiGod!) having actual sex!

I have it on good authority that there are also stores in this community that sell guns. What's more, there are other stores that sell videos showing people killing other people.

So .. in this community, devices for pleasure are bad. Devices for killing are OK. Videos showing people being nice to each other are bad. Videos showing people killing each other are OK.

This I will never understand.

It really is quite confusing isn't it. I could never understand the logic either. If it were me, all guns would be illegal, thereby making empty storefronts available for sex shops

The store was set off the main route by a private road and hidden from view. The building had been a resturaunt that went broke after a gun fight (true story ).

One night "unknown persons" doused the porn shop with gasoline and set it ablaze. The building and contents were a complete loss. The night guard, who was trapped inside during the blaze died in the fire.

The next night at the local watering hole three well known "christians" including the Baptist minister were heard by nine witnesses (including the Chief of Police and the City District Attorney) bragging about having set the fire.

No one was ever brought up on charges. The police ruled the fire an "act of God" and buried the case.

There is no understanding the way people think.

There is a second chapter to that story. The Porn Shop Owner rebuilt the building. Now Tigard has a BIGGER porn shop, entirely concrete with a fire proof storefront entry and a much larger sign that can be seen for miles

Hmmmm i wish i lived in a smaller town right next door to a sex shop...i'd save oodles in gas money and would have more money for TOYS!!!

I'm in the bible belt, and we actually have two decent toy stores in town. My wife and I have gone together a few times, and get this...there are actually normal couples shopping inside (gasp).
