Everyone hides near the doors, stays inside... or when they get out, they sprint so they can stay as dry as possible. Not me. I love being out in the rain. While most people look at rainy days as dreary, standing out there when no one else wants to makes me feel completely alive. They skies are grey, but everything else is so vibrant. Every drop falling on my bare skin... even if hundreds at once, I hold each of them dear for that instant. I love how the rain will collect in my hair and stream down my face... or the way that it's dripping down onto my back even now. I smile when a single drop touches my lips - it always reminds me of a teardrop - and I slowly take it into my mouth and make it a part of me. I adore closing my eyes and facing upwards so I can revel in the storm. Even the air has a certain smell to it that I can't seem to get enough of.
And it gives me an excuse to take off my pants when I get inside.
Maybe I'm not ONLY happy when it rains... but, nevertheless, it's bliss.
I get looks from people in their cars when I'm out there. As they drive by, they stare at me as if I'm a mangled corpse - horrified, but unable to look away. Doesn't anyone else like the rain?
I wonder, sometimes.
