I'm not ignoring you guys

Oh, I'm sorry. Did you girls want me to share my special bedtime faerie stories?

This one has pixie dust in it.

And just for Graceanne, that picture of Tinkerbell is entitled "Pixie Preening" and it's by Walt Disney.

So there! :p

In a word, yes.

It will have to be a few days. I just got some disturbing news. I am going to Colorado to teach a few people the meaning of the word Master.

Um, Walt Disney did not write Peter Pan, he just made a movie off of the play. And in the PLAY tinkerbelle was a fairy.

So there! :p

Aargh! Peter Pan was a BOOK! Peter Pan was written by J.M. Barrie. It is a delightful story and in my opinion Mr. Disney did not quite do it justice.

Does he ever?

That's not to say I don't like some of his movies. Very different from the books though...

I have yet to see a movie based on a book be as good as the book. That includes the LOTR trilogy. I live in mortal fear of what Disney will have wrought out of Narnia. *bites nails nervously*

i have to say i was reasonably satisfied with the LOTR saga, and i have read the books since i was a child. Of course they are not faithful to the books to the letter, but i found them all in all a good adaptation. Of course, i didn't expect them to be as good as the book, so...

Consider Dune. When they were filming it, they stuck to the book for everything, producing a faithful reproduction, and were left with something of such horrendous length - 36 hours sticks in my mind, but i'm not sure about that - that they were forced to radically alter it. i still enjoyed it though.

Harry Potter - well, don't get me started. Or Interview with the Vampire, or most of the Austen adaptations...

Grr! If Tinkerbell was a fairy then how do you explain the pixie dust? Hmmm?

Disney got it wrong?! It was fairy dust in the original book and Tink was a fairy.

Do you girls want your story or not? Mine is a pixie!

Of course... I want to read the story. Yours can be a pixie. It can be whatever you want. But... Mr. Barrie's story had no pixie. It had a fairy!!

And an indian princess who got all tied up...

We wuuuuuv you, daddy. Please tell us a story . . . pretty, pretty, pretty please? I'd offer to put a cherry on top . . . but I don't see any cherries around here. :p

Okay, I found a definition. It says that a pixie is a fairy without wings or that haven't gotten their wings yet.

Tinkerbelle has wings. :p

You're so smart and resourceful, daddy. Now will you tell us a story?

Which means... ahem... since Tink had her wings that she was... in fact..

A FAIRY!

Of course, you are a Dom, so just like my Dh... while you may not always be right, you are never wrong... just not as right as you usually are...

Now... on with the story... please?

Ignore that bad, disresepecful sonja. You can tell me the story.

Me? Bad and disrespectful... I didn't stick MY froggie tongue out at Mr. Betticus.

I merely said he wasn't as right as he usually is...

I'm just gonna go sulk for a while and get ready for this trip to Colorado.

*bet if I pulled the wings off a fairy she'd still be a fairy and not a pixie so I bet that fairy and pixie are interchangeable*

Yeah . . . . I bet if you pulled the wings off a fairy all you'd have is a very pissed of PIXIE. Better be careful or you'll be like what's his name in 'Midsummer Nights Dream' and end up with the head of a donkey.

I'm sorry... good luck on your Colorado trip...

*only if when you stapled the wings on a pixie, the pixie became a fairy*
