There's a first time for everything.
This thread is about PM etiquette.
Superlittlegirl posted a thread asking what to do about an unwanted pm, and since I've often wondered about pm etiquette, I thought I'd ask:
Is it rude to not respond to a pm?
Personally, I'm very sensitive about these things, and rarely pm anybody out of morbid fear they'll ignore me. On the other hand, when somebody pm's me, I always make a point to respond.
Is there a time period within which to respond? If you're online, should you respond right away? When do you know when an exchange is over? How do you say, "It's been good talking to you, but this conversation seems to have died?"
I've seen women get a lot of support when a guy sends unwanted pm's, and I've seen them get support when a guy fails to respond to their pm's. Are the rules different for women than men? (This is a serious question - I'm not just whining here.)
Anyway, sign me-
Just Curious.
