But it's really sad that many of them totally reject the idea of cremation thinking that Jesus will come to resurrect their bodies out of the grave. That's really not a biggie. Casket builders need jobs too. But to think that an organ could bring life to a sick person, but it's refused cause they might need it in heaven is truly sick.

I am Southern Baptist and you've got one on me there. I don't remember anyone ever saying anything in my church about not being cremated or being an organ donor.

I'm an organ donor and if it was a problem one of the deacons or preachers (there are 3 in my immediate family) would have had me at the kitchen table for "the talk" already. And if they weren't gonna say something Granny definitely would have.

Besides, we get new bodies then anyway. The song is now running through my head over and over......

That's not just a southern baptist thing. Catholics often do the same thing, as do many of the christian sects. I actually just read an article on this the otherday :)

girl, who thinks it's pretty silly too.

Let's apply that famous Christian logic and say that the Southern Baptists are correct.

Where are you without your heart then, Mr. Smartie Pants?

Plenty of people go through life heartless. I'm sure they'd be fine after death as well. As fine as they were in livfe, anyway.

Now that I think about it, you are correct.

Happy New Year to you by the way, Lex.

Maybe Crematers could pass out Hats

I'm pretty sure cremated ashes can get into heaven az long as they're wearing a head covering:eek:

I'm a Southern Baptist...

living in the buckle of the Bible Belt no less...and I've never in my life heard that I can't be cremated nor donate my organs upon death. I think you're misinformed there WD.

Thanks xanadu. Nice to know it wasn't my faulty memory.

Depends on the ppl in the church if it's a Southern Baptist thing or a Catholic thing or whatever...I've known ppl that have gone to different churches that have said it's a sin or wrong or whatever to be cremated...and I've known ppl that have gone to the same kind of church in a different area that don't know what those ppl are talking about...I think it's just some ppl's opinions in different places...My SO thinks it wrong to be cremated and I think it's wrong for the dead to take up space for the living. But we both agree it's best to be an organ donor...go figure huh??? :) LoL Anyway I'll be cremated when I die and told him if he wants to be buried then he better leave a will or die after me...cause I'll have him cremated if he goes first. He's working a will :)
