I'm having trouble finding the rules on posting links.

I want to post some of my journal stories but I'm hoping that I'll be allowed to add a link back to my site.

I'm very quid-pro-quo. So I'm more than happy to give to the erotica community but I'm hoping to get a little love in return. A small link at the end of my story would mean a lot to me.

Thanks

Only in your forum signature and bio. You can't mention it anywhere in a story ( including pre or postscript notes ) or even allude to it.

You can’t link off site in a Lit story. You can post a link on your profile or signature, but not in your stories. Only links to other Lit stories are allowed there.

To be blunt… Lit doesn’t need the incremental traffic you’d bring, the benefit would be mostly for you. So it’s not really a quid pro quo.

Quid-pro-quo

It's an old fashion concept but one I tend to believe in. So, I'll participate where I'm allowed a link but I won't post my stories.

I know what the concept is and I know it’s Latin roots. It applies when each party has something of close to equal value to offer. I’m politely pointing out that this is not the case in the situation we are discussing.

This is a simple fact. I’m not going to debate facts.

This is a story site. If you aren't actually going to post stories here, I don't see why you should be given the privilege to promote anything off site here. Or am I misconstruing your post?

If your only 'contribution' is posting to drive traffic to your site, there are plenty of places where you can spam your links.

Sorry to drag this up, but how do you do this? Adding the links to other lit stories within the body of a lit story?

I am looking at doing this for all the stories in my series, but there doesn’t seem to be an obvious way to do this when submitting.

Hi,

You use HTML:

<a href="URL of the story here”>My cool story</a>

Make sure you use "…" and not “…”

Several examples right at the top of the main text of The Undoing of Emma.

You can have the link anywhere in the forum boards, I think. It should be possible in Story Feedback to link to your site and to your story too. Or you can do it in AH as well. That doesn't seem like such a bad deal.

Did you really put yourself in those videos? In any case, you're on the right site with Lit. Incest is extremely popular here, with mother-son versions topping the list, I think. Of course, it's assumed that the stories are "fiction," not autobiographies.

But yes, in my first foray into that category it's a stepmother. That's as far as I can go with it. It got 185 votes anyway, which I think is a record for me. It has the woman narrating in first person, which I think worked pretty well.

Links to off-site story content from the Forum boards are not allowed. That's against Lit policy.

The only place the site allows links to personal site is in your Sig Block, your Profile, or if you advertise your books in the Book thread. But only if you have content here on Lit.

I never had to worry about that, so I didn't think about it. Is she allowed to even name her site on the boards? That's assuming she even comes back here.

Only in her Sig Block, and even so, if she's got no content here on Lit, that's against the spirit of the Lit policy, if not the letter.

This place seems to try really hard not to be one of those spammy porn sites. From what I've seen, most people post their stories because they like to write, not because they want to bait you into buying their pornos.

You can't mention it anywhere in a story ( including pre or postscript notes ) or even allude to it.
Specifically, via the Content Guidelines you cannot post:
Works that contain advertisements, outside links, domain names, or outside promotions of any kind within the description, body text, or audio (including “See my profile for…”).
Really I typed in this reply just to link to the highly useful Publishing FAQ.

Sorry to disturb again Emily, is this the right way to do it?

Every time I try the link when I’m previewing before publishing it doesn’t seem to work.
You have curly quotation marks - they need to be vanilla ones like this - " - actually copy this character.
Here’s an actual example from a forthcoming story:

<center><i><u><a href="https://www.literotica.com/series/se/a-good-girl-gone-bad">A Good Girl Gone Bad</a></u></i></center>
<center><b>CHAPTER FOUR - GANG</b></center>

Emily

I should use a <em> not <i> but I’m lazy and it’s odd typing your name all the time 😬

You can also use <p align="center"> which I found out recently.

Maybe one day Lit will support CSS.

Emily

You are a legend Emily, thanks for this. I did wonder what I was missing! I blame tiredness. I will sort it on the morrow. Many thanks. :)
