Mommy and Daddy are mad.....:p

What Xmas songs do you like...or hate..(if you want to be negative)??

I like that song "Santa Baby" by Eartha Kitt. I don't know why, I just do.

And "Christmas At Ground Zero" by Al Yankovic. Sums it up for me.

I am very fond of Where are you christmas? By faith hill and Blue Christmas by Sheryl Crow.

I am not sure of there are any I dont like.

I hate the dogs barking Jingle Bells .. or any other dog barking, christmas caroling mix. Bad bad bad bad bad.

I love In Dulci Jubilo, Coventry Carol and O Come o Come Emmanuel. Those are my favorites - best done simply. One version of Emmanuel I have is done on carrilon bells and organ - absolutely gorgeous.

Otherwise - I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas always puts a smile on my face and gets me singin' like a fool.

rudolph and jingle bells.....:)

12 days of Xmas...just because its annoying as hell...:D:D

Since I had a brother die the day before xmas I really don't prefer any traditional songs, humorous are ok. Anything else is just too tragic, and sad to me.

I like walking around in women's underwear, that usually makes me laugh, and smiles are hard to come by this time of season.

What did you do to make them mad at you? Must have been some kind of terrible thing! :devil: :p :kiss:

I love that song....

I'm getting nuttin for Christmas,
Mommy and Daddy are mad,
I'm getting nuttun for Christmas,
Cause i ain't been nuttin but bad!

I like almost all Christmas songs. Traditional, new, as long as it's something i can sing, i like it.

Well, for laughs, any version of The Chanukah Song is good.

But I've always had a soft spot for Handel's Messiah

Aretha Franklin's O Christmas Tree, Chrissy Hynde..I forget the song, Michael Bolton White Christmas.

Yogi Yorgesson..

"I Yust Go Nuts At Christmas" is my all time favorite. I don't remember all the words right this minute, but one part I recall well:

"I look at nightgowns for my wife,
those black ones trimmed in red,
but I don't know her size and so,
she'll get the carpet-sweeper instead!"

It has a hilarious parody of 'Twas The Night Before Christmas' within it, also.

reguardless that I'm not Christian LOL my fav is silent night.

and LOL once I did get nothing for christmas from my aunt.. or was it my birthday? forget I was around 10 and I made a remark and she decided to teach me a lesson and did what I asked LOL got me nothing. I forget what I had said, long ago. I think I had said "Whatever"

YES!

"I get to bed late a ye yes, how I'm sleeping
Then onto my bed those darn kids they come leaping
They sit on my face and the yump on my belly
And I'm quivering all over like a bowl full of Yelly
They scream Merry Christmas
My poor wife and me, we stumble downstairs and she lights up the tree

My head is exploding, my mouth tastes like a pickle.."

I love that one:D

I am so sorry to hear that. I will keep you in my thoughts through the season.

I always liked that Shepard Boy song. We sang it in Choir one year and I thought it was georgeous.

Bing Crosby...*sigh* that man could sing....it would melt me just to hear him sing White Christmas..

Christmas Time is here from A Charlie Brown Chistmas.

Christmas time is here,
happiness and cheer,
fun for all
that children call
their favorite time of year.

Snowflakes in the air,
carols everywhere,
olden times
and ancient rhymes
and love and dreams to share.

Sleigh bells in the air;
beauty every where;
yuletide
by the fireside
and joyful memories there.

Christmas time is here;
we'll be drawing near;
oh that we
could always see
such spirit through the year.

I'm in a brass quintet, and I must admit, nothing sounds like well played christmas carols by brass players. I love "Carol of the Bells" and "Farandole" as well as the Frackenpohl arrangement of "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" (the ones for Canadian Brass).

The barking dog "Jingle Bells" and the stupid rendition of "Feliz Navidad" are high on my list of eternal nuisances.

I tend to like religious songs more than secular ones, since I worked in retail during the Xmas season and of course, it would just be the end of the world if a song mentioning Christ happened to come on. Near Christmas! Imagine! :rolleyes: Of those, my faves are "Joy To The World," "O Holy Night," "Silent Night," "Hark The Herald Angels Sing," and "Ring Christmas Bells."

I also like some nontraditional fare. "Weird Al" Yankovic has two Christmas songs in his repertoire, "Christmas At Ground Zero" and "The Night Santa Went Crazy." Bob Rivers' Twisted Christmas tunes are always good for a laugh, the best ones there are "The 12 Pains Of Christmas" and "The Restroom Door Said 'Gentlemen.'"

There's also "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer" by Elmo & Patsy, "Rusty Chevrolet" by Da Yoopers, "Stop Giving Me Crap For Christmas!" by Bobby Gaylor, and "You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch" -- Rockapella's is good, but you can't beat Boris Karloff. :)
