Sweden got a 25% sales tax on goods.
They recently lowered the sales tax on books to some 11% I believe.

Gas prices are great. a dollar a litre.

Though I feel that it's justified even though it feels a bit over the top from time to time.

Why do you need a state income tax?

Unless of course you are living off the dole.

California has a state income tax, plus most of the sales tax rates are over 7%, plus you pay through the ass for everything from getting your car registered to camping in state parks. I wouldn't say overall the standard of living is better than it is here. It's damn near impossible to buy a house in California anymore. California has one of the worst K-12 educational systems in the country.

And??? You can also LEGALLY marry your first cousin in AK, AL, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, HI, MD, MA, ME, NJ, NM, NY, NC, RI, SC, TX, VT, VA and Washington DC with no restrictions.

1st cousins can marry in AZ, IL, ME, UT, IN, and WI if at least one of the two has been sterilized or is beyond an age capable of producing off-spring.
