It's funny, because I look back at when my parents were my age (my parents were 20-Dad and 17-Mom) when I was born, and they were "old." They both were so concerned with career, bills, and other of life's headaches that they couldn't really enjoy themselves. I have the same things to be concerned about, but I have a way of putting them out of my mind so I can enjoy life. Youth is all in the mind, and if you set your mind to it, you can be 18 forever.

I dunno, I turn 29 next week, and feel pretty damn old sometimes. Then, I remember that when my mom was my age, she was a single mother of 4 with a husband that refused to pay child support. I know I could feel a lot older than I do.

Thirty is definitely still young, even if it doesn't seem so at that age. I've always heard that middle age starts at 40.

I remember a conversation with some of my fellow "doddering" 40 something friends. The women were talking about being in their 40s. Every single one of them said they were happier in their 40s than in their 20s or 30s (the stereotypes you see in our youth obsessed mass media notwithstanding). The guys agreed. Few people know who they really are at 25 or 30 -- though you couldn't tell it to us either at that age. It's better knowing who you are.

So enjoy your youth... but the best years are still ahead... not even including that you probably won't hit your sexual peak for another 9 or 10 years...

30 is a tough year - much tougher than I expected. I know what you're saying, KM. Do you yourself feel old or young? Tough question, huh? I don't feel old, but I know I'm not young anymore. I feel basically like I did at 21, only 10x smarter and more secure...but not "old". I dunno. Fuck. Blah.

I look like I'm in my lower twenties most days. The jury is out on the other days. They can't decide between Medusa and Bela Lugosi.

I don't feel old. I feel like me. I don't feel young. I feel like me. I don't feel any different now than I did a year ago. It doesn't bother me that in the countdown to 31 I've dropped below 30 days. *shrugs* I've got another 60+ to go.

It's just hard to concatenate young and old lady in three minutes.

It's all a matter of perpective. Take someone whose 16, they'd say you're old. Now, reverse it to someone 65. They'd think you're still very young. I also feel very old for 23. Jeez, I feel like an 80 year old man that can't even get it it.
