I accidentally set off the alarm. I reached through the window and unlocked the door without thinking. Now when I drive it, it blares for about 5 minutes then stops. Then it'll start up again, blaring.

Please, please, please, someone help me find some instructions on a 2007 Honda Civic alarm system.

I'm so upset, I could cry.

Here, I'd just go to my local mechanic, who would likely reset the alarm for me for free - but would remind me about it endlessly for the next 2 years.

You could just take out the fuse until you have a chance to get to a mechanic. You won't have an alarm till then though.
And that's only if your brand of car actually has a fuse.... maybe an in-line one?

I'm reading here to simply unlock the car door with my key and that will turn off the alarm.

Normally you need to make sure the car is not running, the doors are all closed, then arm and disarm the alarm using the key fob remote.

No, because I am clueless.

Entirely my fault. I forget that there's people out there who simply don't know these things.
It's a major failing of mine... something I am trying to work on (and failing miserably, obviously!)

On an entirely unrelated note - I am about to start crocheting a scarf using pom pom wool. Using the biggest hook I own. No idea how it will go.

ohhhhhh Keep me updated on your progress. I couldn't work with that, I'm too inexperienced.

That is kinda funny that I put "I'm an idiot" in the title when the answer wound up being so simple.

In the future, when faced with a problem about which you are clueless (especially those about to make you cry), try every conceivable permutation of anything and everything.

Unless you did something really off the wall (like pouring water into a gas tank), there is rarely a serious penalty for being wrong.

Unplug your battery for two hours it resets the computer.

That would be weird to crochet...
