All day everyone kept saying what a tragedy it is that that space shuttle crashed. I don't think so.

Everyone says how horrible it is about 9/11. I agree, but think we were asking for it.

People seem to have actually voted for Bush, and yet I would like to murder him with my bare hands.

I've decided that I'm a sucky American. I want to move to Canada.

Where I live, that makes you more American, aside from not voting at all.

umm there is nothing wrong with sucking....

oh wait... thats not what you meant *blush*

Ummm....I'd edit that.

Threats to the President are serious stuff. <g>

Just my two cents. <g>

Actually..no.

It's only a conspiracy if we each individually take part in some manner.....

...the planning, or the execution of detail.

Yeah, let's forward the URL to this thread to the Secret Service. I'm sure they'll figure out who you are from your pic.

And the beauty of America is that you're entitled to express those feelings.

That being said, I think the tragedy of the deaths of the 7 crew members today has nothing to do with them being American (or Israeli, in one case) and everything to do with them being human. I'm sure in their final moments, with the shuttle crumbling to pieces around them and knowing that they were about to die, that they weren't thinking about Patriotism. It's a shame that that's all you can see in their deaths and can dismiss their lives and the loss of their families so easily.

The same for the 3,000+ people who died as a result of the terrorist attacks on 9/11. If you don't feel that the deaths of 3,000+ people are a tragedy, it doesn't make you a bad American. It makes you a bad human.

By your reasoning, you wouldn't feel sorry for a woman who was raped if she was "asking for it." Do you feel that way as well, or just indulging yourself in some inconsistant logic in order to consider yourself a way-cool rebel type?

As for President Bush, some of us didn't vote for him. Wouldn't vote for him again, but can manage to separate the deaths of human beings from our dislike of a man's politics.

No, you're not a shitty American; you're a shitty human.

Is that cheese whiz in that head of yours?

7 people died in front of millions.

You say we were asking for 9/11.

You make a threat on the President that is a Federal offense. Even if you don't mean it or have the means to carry it out.

Canada is to good for you, move to central Africa and live a harsh life.

As usual Nora, well said.

The news about the shuttle crash today upset me just as much as the news that an elderly man who passed away in my town yesterday. I didn't know those seven people anymore than I knew him. The loss of life, thinking about the pain that their families are going through, the hurt close friends are feeling.. that's what I happened to think about when I heard.

you think that because terrorists killed 5000 americans we have the right to bomb a country that wasn't really involved? I was sad about 9/11 but I was just as upset when I looked at the #'s of civilians AMERICAN bombers killed in Afghanistan.

As for being a shitty human...well, I'm not much good at anything = )

Um..I really hope you're kidding.

Life is tough. Bad things happen. That doesn't mean you dismiss them, or better yet, applaud them as you seem to have done.

Nora said it better than I ever could. I'll second her.
