Illusion Vale (OOC)

I figured as much, however Ilandria is used to 'wagers' on outcomes of games. She has no concept of what you propose. Besides, do you think the Queen who was bent on your destruction would allow you all the choices? I'm simply using her character and what she would do.

As well... I was doing as well as I could with the information you gave. If I change my post now, it will effectively be 'metagaming'. Something all RPer's should avoid.

I'm sure that you're a good enough writer that you will make Eeth's intentions clear. Don't worry too much about my writing, what will be effective is how you counter what I wrote :D

All you really need to do, is express what you want.

I think it would be a great way to assert Eeth's character over Ilandria's. Afterall... there is no guarantee you will live through this.

One more thing, how were you going to call the outcome of these games? I would be (naturally) biased with my plotline and character and you would be with Eeth's.

So... how were you going to 'call' it? Once it was done and explained to Eeth's satisfaction, that is.

Assert Eeth's character over Ilandria's? How very interesting. That will most likely have an even greater effect on her than did Eeth claiming that he might win a popularity contest against her. ;)

As for calling it, in character, Eeth would call upon the honor of one of the specatators to be as unbiased as he could be, regardless of his viewpoints. If any accused him of being biased with the results, a test would be put to him to determine the truth. If he failed, his honor is forfeit, and he would be dealt with however elves deal with dishonored elves.

Out of character, I would ask one of the other players to call it.

Very interesting concept.

Very well, we shall lay down the cards and see who wants to play :D

Great! *looks around, spots Mantra lurking in a corner* Mantra! You look like an unbiased person! Why don't you call the coin toss when we get to it?

Hrm? Wha-?

Wolfsister, would there happen to be anybody near Eeth that has a coin purse that Eeth can see? Basically, Eeth needs to borrow a coin so he can demonstrate the first game.

Jedi:
I really couldn't see why there wouldn't be. Most of the elves are npc's anyway so something as small as a coin purse is more than acceptable.

Any particular design for the coins you have in mind? I mean, it is your world and you have put a lot of thought into it, so why not have designs on the currency? ;)

LOL, well if you really want to see how sadly devoted I am to this world, then yes.

A simple design. Gold coins have an emblem of a dragon in flight with a rider holding some sort of spear. The silver coins are similar, however they don't have the rider. Only one side is etched this way.

Copper coins have no dragon, simply the emblem of a Blade. Straight up with a short pommel. Once again, only one side is etched.

If you want to know the story of the Dragon Emblem... I shan't tell you ;)

Wolfsister...you are priceless! :D I'd love to hear the story about the Dragon Emblem sometime, but it will wait until you're ready to tell it.

What? You really didn't expect me to have something in place already? (the coins)

And as far as asserting yourself... well... we'll just see how (un)lucky you are in that department.

Don't forget, you're dealing with Ilandria...

I must say though, Eeth's arrogance is... well... astounding. Good for you ;)

Anyway, I think that I will relish my next post to you, so it may be some time in coming. Just be patient and I'll make it worth your while.

Arrogance? Arrogance?!? How lightly that word rolls off your tongue. Eeth isn't arrogant. He's just acting for the "benefit" of the queen.

Oh no, you're going to relish the next post? That sounds like a bad thing. *braces for a bad thing*

:D

*nods* Yep, I'm not sure about you, but I do think its arrogance when you strut around the Queen's Court and dictate your terms for this 'game of chance'.

There is nothing in that that the queen has decided. Its not fair for her at all... and I plan on letting her see it that way. Why do you think I proposed terms? One side of the coin will be for her terms, the other for yours. For you to decide the both sides of the coin with no consideration for the Queen is pure arrogance... and might not have been the best idea.

However... you're getting better at this RP thing. So I might consider letting you off... then again, I might not ;)

Oh... no changing your post either... that would just not be fair.

If she doesn't like the coin toss, she ain't going to like the second game either. But then again, the results of both "games" apply equally to both of them. If the coin toss ends up being no magic, then Eeth will abide by it and will expect the queen to do so as well. If she uses magic, he's going to respond in kind to defend himself. Of course, there must be some sort of referee that will enforce the rules. Maybe the Golden Guard will volunteer in service to the throne, regardless of who sits upon it.

As for the struting around bit, like it was suggested in my post, it's all intended to piss the queen off. And if my guess is correct, it'll work more marvelously than Eeth expected. ;) Of course, if she takes a moment to examine the opitions of the coin toss, she'll note that her terms are already incorporated into it. So what exactly does she have to complain about? If she looks at it with her understanding of games of chance, her wager was accepted, and Eeth made his own wagers.

When the second game is explained, then she'll have reason to complain.

LOL, I am fully aware of what you say. However... just because in this instance it corresponded to one of her terms doesn't mean that it will again. I wasn't making a point about the terms, Jedi. I was making a point about her personality and that you indeed succeeded in pissing her off. Its just a forewarning however and you can take it as you see fit.

The point I made was the fact that Eeth's making all the decisions, and she's not going to like that (as you will see).

Also, have you considered the elves around you? After all, not all of them are a part of the rebellion.

And yes, there will be a referee. And I think you'll like him... (then again... maybe not).

... there are ways to defeat the Stalker. Simply look at my posts when I describe them. Most if not all the information you need is there.

Hmmmm....

*Wanders off to post*

Hello All, Im rather new here but I was wondering if new people are welcome to join your role play? I think the storyline is fantastic and the writing is wonderful!

Thanks for the compliments Kalika. As for you joining, you'll have to wait for Wolfsister to put in an apppearance before you get the yay or nay, because she's the one running the show.

Well, Kalika, just send me a PM with your character and we'll go from there, okay?

I've gotta warn you before you join though, that I'm not on that often and its a very DM driven story so there may be periods where people wait for a time and the story slows down. But other than that, send me a PM and we'll have a chat :D

Bleh, I will sooner or later. Just trying to catch up.. I know I'm holding things up again.

I wouldn't say you're holding things up Wolfsister. In fact, I haven't been able to do much with Elmhand's post; still trying to work out how he'll react to Jay suddenly showing up and then the Night Stalker's vomit attack.
