The public voted for Trump twice. He won the first election, legitimately, though some would even question that since he lost the popular vote by several million votes.
The second time, he lost the election- both the popular vote (by an even larger margin than before) and the electoral vote.

And then, he screwed up. Tried to overturn the result and install himself as a dictator.

The people already had a chance to vote for Trump. Trump blew it. This isn't "Destroying democracy." This is about protecting it- and serving justice. No more, no less.

Of course, despite claiming to be a lawyer (not that anyone ever believed him,mind you) Icanhelp1 has consistently displayed an appalling disregard for, and lack of even rudimentary understanding of, the law and the application of justice.

Since Congress codified insurrection under the statute 18 U.S.C. 2383 I would think insurrection being a federal crime would encompass all measures of due process, trial and conviction as mandated by our constitution. This should not be seen as "Democrats vs Republicans" or "Liberals vs. Conservatives." It's not political. So stop making it like it is.

Trump committed a crime. Multiple crimes, but the main thing here is the actions on Jan 6th. This is a crime which warrents punishment. AT THE VERY LEAST, it should prohibit him from ever holding office in the United States again. However if there was a fair and just system, which every civilized country should have, Trump would be in prison. You and I would be in prison for the crimes he committed.
