I try not to use ignore features. Sure it gets some annoying people out of the way but often those same people start discussions that bring less annoying people in and it can be funny.

Miles Ben Zonah is one of the very few folks here (Ishmael is another) who take it as a personal insult when people don't agree with him.
 
I don't have anyone on ignore, partly because I don't have to have them on iggy to not read their posts, just scroll past them.

Partly because even if someone is on ignore someone else always quotes them so you would still see whatever they say

Mostly because I don't care and no one really bothers me. Even the people I troll here and there don't bother me, they're just easily mocked.

I admit I have used the sig blocking option sometimes here, because a few people's sigs take up a half a damn page.

Something I was wondering about, and HardRom can chime in if he'd like as he comes to mind as someone I've seen do this, is why post that you just added poster 'xyz123' to your ignore list?

Is it intended to point out to everyone you are ignoring that poster, or as some sort of message-board slap to the one being ignored? Serious question.
If I was considering using ignore, say like some have done to keep the BusyBody spam at bay, I would add him to my ignore list and carry on. Why do some post it, like an announcement?

Perhaps not on par with, but it is up there with the 'Remove User from your Ignore List, This post is hidden because so and so is on your ignore list' that some posters post in threads. Always thought that was kind of silly. Not silly funny, but silly dumb.

The useless pile of scutter only does it cos Thrope did. I'm starting to wonder if Dishrag is actually Thrope's fake tumour. Like it took on a life of its own kinda thing?
