If Zimmerman was in fact a gay predator stalking Trayvon

... would Martin have been justified in beating him up?

This is an interesting question that was raised after it came out that Martin probably believed that Zimmerman was a gay predator and he may have felt he was acting in his own self-defense in beating Zimmerman up.

As someone who was harassed on the streets by gays on a number of occasions as a young man, this certainly makes me feel differently about this case. Yet, what are the rules on using physical resistance to protect oneself from sexual harassment and possible attack? This is also obviously a question for women to ask themselves as well, though, of course, most of the time a woman can't physically fight off a male attacker but there are cases where the lady is bigger and stronger and could physically resist.

Does a potential victim of sexual assault have to wait until the attack is actually happening to do anything?

You know if someone is being a jerk and you can just get away from them. In your example, it sounds like that is an option.

The natural reaction of a normal straight male when a dude hits on him is to beat the guy up. Its simply instinctive and reflexive.

If Trayvon hadn't been killed, he would probably end up in front of the judge himself.

That's strictly not true. Many years ago, when I had more hair and less stomach, I was sometimes hit on by gay men. Once in a while, I took him up on his offer, but usually I just ignored him. At no time did I have the urge to commit any violence.

Of course, this is CA. Some other states might be more backward.

Having said that, how on Earth did the idea ever get spread that Z was a gay predator?

yet you've previously complained about a woman's right to say no sexual assault by their husband... are you saying now that you'd be okay with with wives gunning down their husbands if they make advances on them

you were hit on by gay men.. at no point was your life in any danger, nor were you raped or even physically assulted... you just can't kill people for flirting with you and you becoming terrified by it

If you take a gay man up on his offer, are you really that straight?

It didn't. The idea that's getting spread is that TM thought Z was gay and therefore attacked him.

It's the latest salvo from the blame-the-victim echo chamber.

I was always surprised at gay propositions. The best came from a guy I worked with. He was married to an old, fat, ugly hag. But one day he suggests to me that after work we go to a local rude bar, then go to a motel. And I aint connecting the dots. WHAT FOR? I ask. "You, know," he says. No, I was clueless.

More interesting were the propositions from bisexual guys, their wives were usually the bait they offered.

Huh? No. Gay guys used to occasionally hit on me when I was single and my reaction was pretty much the same as being hit on by a woman I had no interest in. In no way, shape, or form should a gay person hitting on you trigger your fight or flight response. That's an extremely unhealthy reaction you have there.

I pity you. I really do.

Back in college I bartended for hire and worked at a gay friend's parties that were attended by the university's gay social group and a few straight women. I'd talk to the guys all night, make a killing in tips and then leave with one of the women as the guys went WTF...

Every one of your threads is based on some bullshit "fact" you pull out of your ass.

To call you a troll is an insult to trolls. You're the shit that trolls wallow in.

What you say is true. I hadda gal block the door to keep me from leaving, and when she refused to step outta the way I warned her that I intended to go out the door, and she moved.

I've always been primarily straight, but my cock has never cared whether the warm place was a pussy, an ass or somebody's mouth.

What I meant was: Why would people think TM thought Z was gay or a gay predator. I'm not saying he is and I'm not saying he isn't; I'm wondering where the idea originated.
