If I was a pencil...

I'd be all chewed up. Short, been used a lot. Maybe cracked just a little somewhere. There would be no eraser left, cleaning up mistakes... But still with a lot of use left.

I'd be the mechanical type that are made out of clear plastic. Very ordinary, yet scholarly looking. However, look closer, you'll see it has very little lead left, and has a few stress fractures.

But I'm not a pencil , so my head's not that perfectly shaped, but it's covered with hair anyway. But I am tall.

I would not be a pencil...I would be a pen. I would be a cherished pen, a gift perhaps. I would ride around inside my owners breast pocket, close to his heart. I would be there whenever needed. I would be the favorite pen of all time.
