If you thought you had no life...

I wonder what will happen when that candle burns down to the paper it was laying on.

You'll have to watch the six o'clock news for the answer to that question.

It's OK, the water overflowing from the bucket (used to fire the dart) will put out any fire...the resultant flood, however...

Like I said, the thought of cleaning up all that mess just makes my whole body shudder. :D

Where is Rube Goldberg now that we really need him?

http://www.rubegoldberg.com/images/gallery/RG_168.gif
Rube Goldberg gets his think-tank working and evolves the simplified pencil-sharpener.

Open window (A) and fly kite (B). String (C) lifts small door (D) allowing moths (E) to escape and eat red flannel shirt (F). As weight of shirt becomes less, shoe (G) steps on switch (H) which heats electric iron (I) and burns hole in pants (J). Smoke (K) enters hole in tree (L), smoking out opossum (M) which jumps into basket (N), pulling rope (O) and lifting cage (P), allowing woodpecker (Q) to chew wood from pencil (R), exposing lead. Emergency knife (S) is always handy in case opossum or the woodpecker gets sick and can't work.

Rumple Foreskin

ps: If this sort of weirdness appeals to you, here's a link to the official Rube Goldberg web site:lambiek.net/artists/g/goldberg_r.htm

Really dazzling! I burst out laughing on several occasions at the absurdity of it all. I particularly liked the chess pieces and the king being checkmated.

Oy.

WTF? I wonder how long it took to figure all that stuff out.

That's good. Reminded me of the Honda commercial where they did that using car parts.

Here it is in case you haven't seen it: Honda commercial

You just know that the guys (I'm assuming that they were guys because... well, it just seems like something only a guy would bother with) who did that were probablly engineers of some kind. :D

Engineers can be so geeky sometimes.

(I know... I am one)

Indeed. :D

(I can say that with impunity because, although not an engineer, I come from a family just choking with them)

:D Sigh.

If all TV commercials were as imaginative and enjoyable as that one, I'd watch TV once in a while.
