Just heard this song, it's so pretty! So, I had to post it!

"Running"

Run
Running all the time
Running to the future
With you right by my side

Me
I'm the one you chose
Out of all the people
You wanted me the most
I'm so sorry that I'm falling
Help me up lets keep on running
Don't let me fall out of love

[Chorus:]
Running, running
As fast as we can
I really hope you make it
(Do you think we'll make it?)
We're running
Keep holding my hand
It's so we don't get separated

Be
Be the one I need
Be the one I trust most
Don't stop inspiring me
Sometimes it's hard to keep on running
We work so much to keep it going
Don't make me want to give up

[Repeat chorus twice]

(The future)

[Repeat chorus]

My buddies were in a band that played on the Vans Warped Tour a few years ago, so I got to (briefly) meet ms gwen stefani at the afterparty for the molson park gig...she's quite bright.

Yes she is and it's hard to believe she's 35 years old! The funniest thing I read about her is the fact that she HATES getting dressed up and would much rather be in sweatpants and t-shirt, her hubby is the one that picks out her clothes for her! She said she has absolutely no interest in or any fashion sense at all!

Molson Park, huh? LOL..been there too many times! It's great for big outdoor weekend stuff!

Course I liked the old Exhibition Stadium for concerts too.

They could use more greenspace there for hanging out I think...I find it can be a big of a dustbowl...I lived in oakville for a while in the late 70's but only went to ex stad once , I think it was Joe Jackson...I used to go to the gardens and ontario place a lot and the edgemore tavern to hear jayne/wayne county, rough trade, steve blimke, nash the slash, etc

OMIGOD Lance!! Rough Trade? I loved Carol Pope, my hairdresser at the time lived with her!!

The gardens and the ampitheatre!! Damn!

Are you still in T.O? (I'm nosey)

When I lived in (J)Oakville, I'd meet up with university pals at The Papaya Hut on Yonge on a Saturday morning and we'd hang out at Sam's, then Greenjeans for lunch, over the the Island for the afternoon, then to whatever thing we were going to...a q107 boozecruise with Max Webster or David Wilcox, punk bands at the Edge or a concert at the gardens or ampitheatre....great fun. We used to go to Wasaga a lot as well of course...

In more recent years I lived down near King & Spadina and would hit Lee's Palace, Healey's, Ted's Wrecking Yard, the Bovine, the Velvet, ElMo, Gypsy Co-Op, Shallow Groove, El Convento Rico, the Amp or ACC depending on the nite...bit of a Queen West junkie, mostly though...moved to Nova Scotia again last year.

Damn Lance, this is like reliving my college days..same locations, same bands.

Max Webster - Diamonds Diamonds!

David Wilcox used to play every other weekend it seemed at The Riverside (now Sharky's) in Oakville...I used to love that place; iced tea and vodkas on the patio, soaking up sun, watching the yachts and picking up grrls, then going inside to drink quarts of Blue and get all sweaty dancing to Wilcox. :)

I loved Wilcox, he still plays here.

And Blue!! Nothing like a Blue!

Ah..I miss those days of sitting at Ontario Place in the bars, watching people go by, then going to the concerts.

hmmm reading made me think of an old fav by Neil...

"there is a town in north Ontario
dreams comforts memories to spare
and in my mind i still need a place to go
all my changes were there.

the blue blue windows behind the stars
yellow moon on the rise
big birds flying across the sky
throwing shadows on our eyes

leave us
Helpless helpless helpless
babe hear me now
the chains along time across the door
babe sing with me somehow..."

it goes on
another 3 chord wonder

d-a-g

the whole song
wondrous simplicity...

;)

That song is you LadyGuinivere, and I hardly know you. BTW, thanks, I can now spell Guinivere without thinking...lol

He went to high school in Winnipeg.

That's where he started his band and then later packed up his Hearse to seek fame and fortune world wide.

Winnipeg: home to The Guess Who, BTO, Crash Test Dummies, Chantal Kreviazuk and Remy Shand. :p

Ah, I know he comes from Pickering, don't know if he was born there or moved there later on...

BURTON!!! I met him, he so rules. Friends in a band were buying some equipment from him and we tagged along :)

Gwen is 35....???!!!

I dont feel like a lecherous old man any more for lusting after her.......WAY COOL........ :D :p

He still has a house here as well as Los Angeles. Comes home pretty regularly, recently had a performance theatre named after him.

theres a great, and now, out of print album by Neil called

Dont Be Denied, and in the the title track the verses go something like...

"When we got to Winnepeg
I checked into school
I wore white bucks on my feet
till i learned the golden rule

the punches came fast and hard
lyin on my back on the schoolyard

Dont be Denied"...that was an awsome collection of songs,

came out just before "On The Beach" in about 73 I believe...

I may go searching for it on the web....

I have that on vinyl!! I stole it from a friend's hubby! LOL!

Neil Young from PickleRing? I don't think so....he's a 'pegger.

Randy Bachman's been here the past couple of nites with his Storyteller thing.

Winnepeg...so much great music and really nice people...from such a shitty little town.
