I'm just curious to know.
personally I like leather its just the snug feel of it and the smell of fresh new leather*drools* but Ive been curious to know what other stuff might feel like or at least get another point of view on the subject.

All of the above. I have a set of cuffs (hand and ankle), but often prefer to use binding materials from the hardware store. My favorite is sometimes sold as plastic twine. It's about the same width as duct tape but has no adhesive properties other than that it sticks to itself. It's also about $5 for a 300-foot roll. Finally, it's clear so you can still see what's underneath being bound.

rope for arms to say a chair, or the bed.......easy enough to work with and simple enough for light play sessions.

leather wrist/angle cuffs fastened by rope for other equipment

chain if the sex bench comes out to play - why? it adds a certain 'something'....the coolness against the body, totally unyielding and to a degree sets the mood. Better still, Mrs H is not a fan of rope being tight and has been known to slip a knot, which obviously doesnt happen with chain.
Prob my fav to use as the bench has hooks underneath so quick and easy to work with.

occasionally vinyl bondage tape for really swift use ( rather than finding the various hidden bags that hold the other bits n pieces), and nice just to simple tie hands or arms rather than 'full on' restraint.

Leather cuffs, first. I love the clink of the attached metal hardware.
But a close second would be silk. Silk is strong and it holds a tie pretty well, so depending what you are doing, a simple bow like you would tie your shoe with suffices, which can feel nice if you are nervous all about a serious knot for any reason. And sometimes a bow just feels... sweeter

oooo custom cuffs! an image just popped into my head of fur fringes and chrome clasps You mean the ol'fashioned stocks right? heavy lumber waist high, three holes classic latches and locks, or something a bit more flesh friendly and modern, like upholstered leather and an adjustable hip bar to keep the lovely victim from altering their stance? Keep that butt up and presented

I know right! one of my old boyfriends had this 'muffler' I don't know how to describe it any better. But it strapped around the back of my head and the leather mask rode on the bridge of my nose and cradled under my jaw , it fit perfectly over a ball or ring gag even hooked up perfectly with the buckles in the back. I still the remember how every breath smelled.

Plastic twine... cheap efficient lots to go around, can't argue with that. Solid choice.
Got me thinking of plastic, would a plastic wrap sleeve, from elbow to wrist and mitts for those pesky fingers be possible with it?
Add in a hogtie...though I'd imagine using that you'd have to consider circulation for those longer sessions.

Chain, that's one I never thought about, but then again I was thinking about getting pinched by the links. Though I think I can see the appeal of the cold chill of metal against warm skin.
Haven't played with bondage tape, may have to find some.

Once used a silk scarf, it was a third date. Had a picnic played a game of bet you hadn't turned into a bet you wouldn't and ended up as a yes he did

Hand sewn heavy leather.
Brass buckles, no fur, just well rounded and polished edges on the leather.


The latest set of stocks were the 4-hole version for wrists and ankles.
It will keep the butt so nicely taut and presented.

The velcro is brill and they come in different sizes. They are fast and easy to use and are really difficult to escape from and are quick release if the person needs to be released in a hurry.

Ours

While the wife and I have several of the choices listed in our collection, our favorite is rope. Whenever we are in a store and pass the rope section, we automatically touch them and find one that is soft enough to do the deed. Our favorite thing to do is to use our custom made bondage bar. It attaches to the headboard and has 4 rings on it to attach her hands and feet. this keeps them high in the air and allows me to have access to her sweet spots. Also, she loves to have her boobs tied up, soft rope is essential for this.

God I love this woman.

I like this vinyl tape stuff you can buy in a roll. Comes in pretty colors other than black (which I also have) including blue and pink. Easy to use, pretty strong, and doesn't stick to me. But I'm also in favor of leather or fur-on-leather cuffs.
