How long have you been writing?

Poem? Stories? Novels?

Maybe you just write privately in your journal.

What genre?

What made you pick up the pen and paper?

I am not a writer, but love to hear how some of you got started writing.

I honestly can't remember I time when I didn't write. It's just become such an ingrained part of me....

I write poetry, short stories and I have about a million unfinished novels sitting around on my computer...
I also write for my local newspaper, and I keep a journal.

As for what genre....everything and anything I guess. I've only recently begun writing erotic fiction, and this site has really encouraged me to explore this area.
It's so great to be able to know thousands of people have read your stories, and the comments and feedback that you receive are so encouraging :)

I started keeping journals at a very young age. I was writing short stories in high school and I write all the time now as a student. I have about 160 pages of a novel written. It is fragmented and eposodic at present and need editing. I suck at editing. Recently, i have written a few very poor stories for lit, and some worse poety. Poetry is a brand new genre for me. I try to write something worth while everyday.

Me

Juicy, i do diddies. not really considered the meat and potatoes of LIT and I don't share except here.

I spose in real life I wish I knew how to write a good story. I sure enjoy reading them.

i've been a frustrated writer .most of my adult life and have tried short stories, etc. but i can't write the way i talk or think...for some reason i write very formally and i am anything but in the real world...everything comes out staid and pompous so i started writing songs instead...two or three verses and a chorus and i can say just about anything i want and can be country or bluesey or whatever...i may try my hand at erotica soon though and see if i can accomplish that without using every five dollar word in my vocabulary..

How are you feeling??

On the mend and all that jazz??

I am not sure if I could call myself a ...

writer. I have always enjoyed the expression in words. I know that signing in litchat over a year and a half ago ignited my love for writing again. Many people in the chat forum always asked if I had submitted any stories. I know that I would write fantasies to some on line lovers and I enjoyed it. As time progressed I found the courage to submit several stories in lit site. A friend encouraged me to submit my first one based on the Halloween Contest. I will always be thankful to Gurlie for that motivation and the time she took to help edit it.

Then I started to venture into NYC for poetry readings. This encouraged me to write poetry again. All I wanted to do was to simply hold my own with other talented writers. Now it is an addiction. All types of writing allows me to express myself one way or another. It can be very theraputic. I have always felt deep within me that some day I will publish a book.

I think being part of a community like lit we all have some love of the written word. We want our voice to be heard. Hence why we write. If you want look up some of my stories and poems in the story section of lit under tulip2lipservice.

Peace,
Tulip

Some better...still takin meds for another week or so. Your very kind to ask Cassidy. Go back to your thread now...

I've been writing since I was four. It seriously sucked back then, but hey, two words maxed my written vocab. I write fiction, no specific genre other than general fiction. I write poetry (not very well), short stories, essays, and novels. I keep three journals, though not very well. One has to do with the epilepsy so it doesn't count, I s'pose. One is a strict writing journal where all I write is sketches. The last is a whatever I want journal. I've had it for two and a half years and I have five entries. Last year I put out just under 500,000 words on my word processor. This doesn't include emails, this board, things in paper, or things that I deleted. I don't c'n p from the word processor to here anyway. I started writing because I must. It's as necessary to me as breathing. :)

A wonderful question Juicylips!

Poetry
I've been writing poetry for as long as I can remember. It was always my way of letting my feelings out and most of it is very dark from my viewpoint. I usually only write poetry when there is something extremely difficult going on in my personal life and I need a way to express it. I'm very submissive in my personal life (not sexually speaking) and tend to always believe that I shouldn't feel as I do. Because of that, I can't speak to the person that the feelings encompass, therefore I write.

Erotica
I began writing erotica about a year ago. My writings were for me and a way I could release my sexual tensions. Slowly I began sharing them with select people and as I became more comfortable with it I wanted to share with more. My S/O is the only RL person who knows about my writing so to share it would have to be on the net. That's what brought me here to Lit!

Because my stories were only for me, I knew off the bat that they weren't "publishable" material and would need a lot of work to become so. Though I have a number of stories written, only one so far has been edited up to standard and posted. :p

How long have you been writing?

Since the fifth grade.

Poem? Stories? Novels?

At first I wrote only poetry... I found that short stories and novels just were too complicated for me to write. Then one day, I tried my hand at writting erotica and discovered that I was pretty good at it... Now I'm becoming more and more interested in trying my hand at short stories again.

Maybe you just write privately in your journal. What genre?

I have written in a private journal before, I don't do that much now. It can cleans the soul, however; a very good practice to keep.

What made you pick up the pen and paper?

Since I was a little kid I've been very introverted... perhaps it's because I wanted to communicate all these thoughts that were in my head, because I thought I had something important to say. Now, it turns out, everything I've said has been said before. *shrugs* ...and life goes on. I still enjoy writting.

caria...i did read fantasy merger and it was great!! caught a little chubby i did...please publish more.....

I have been into creative writing since I was about 14. I attended Duke Young Writer's Camp then, thought I would grow up to be a journalist or at least have a column in some paper. Then in Highschool I though I could become a usual contributer of short stories and essays to The New Yorker (then that bitch took over and ruined it by turning it into a fashion rag). Then in college I turned to my love of the stage, and began to tinker with scripts. In my junior year I began to make short films/videos and started to write motion picture screenplays. My best friend and I wrote a script and then produced it as part of our senior project. A 90min video ofr less than $200 about 3 college guys who get mixed up with the mob.

After college I left my writing behind, and wasn't until just recently that the spark has been re-ignited. I am ever grateful for at least that affect Lit has had on me!

The first short story I ever wrote was in first grade. 5 pages on the 'Meanest Animal Ever' and dedicated to my oldest sister. :D

I write poetry, which is like a journal for me, and I rarely share it. I have a few stories on here... and I have two novels in progress. I don't write any specific genre, though I stick with fiction most of the time.

I'm also working on a collection of random short stories that I hope to have ready for submission this summer.

Like KM, writing is a compulsion for me. It's something I have to do, not something I chose to do.

I write alot, not all of it is publishable though. I started way back when I first knew what stories were. I dont remember what I first wrote, darn this age thing and memories.

I just started writing poems, just to see if I could, and have been doing the poetry olympics.

I have stories and poems on Lit,and a whole lot that went into the garbage. ;)

How long have you been writing?

since 10 years old so 13 years

Poem? Stories? Novels?

Comic books I actualy write more then I draw them. so none finished.

What genre?

Mostly to do with mythology, mutants, or war.

What made you pick up the pen and paper?

I have many Ideas in my head that needed to be released.

How long have you been writing?

Let's see...sold my first story when I was 17...hadn't actually written down much before then. So let's say 6 years.

Poem? Stories? Novels?

Stories.

What genre?

Action/Adventure/Sci-Fi/Mystery. Dependent upon the central character of the title I'm working on.

What made you pick up the pen and paper?

Always been a typer, but anyway. I just wanted to throw my ideas into the arena. Wanted to add to the amazing greatness of the legends I've worshipped since I was 2 years old. I feel good, knowing kids and adults alike are picking up my stuff, seeing actual heroes, not basketball stars, or pop performers, or any of the professions I don't particularly find heroic. Bit off the topic of why I started, but I digress. Mostly, just to be part of something that was around 50 years before me, and will be around, hopefully, 500 years from now.

When it comes to stories and poetry, I have been writing since I was about 14. And, my Sophomore year in high school I had a horror story up to 35 pages and kids I didn't even know at school kept coming to me asking if I had a "most recent" printed copy of it with me.

As for journaling, I may have started that up around 12 or 13. Through most all of high school (and the first couople years of college) I kept one. It's been a long time, now, since I've done journal writing.

No

What genre?
Sci fi, erotic, non erotic, Dark poetry.

What made you pick up the pen and paper?

I loved writing and acting out in plays at school. It was exciting writing. It was someting I loved to do once I started.

Hell, I don't know juicyness.

I just write shit and nothing comes of it. It's an altered state for sure.

I want to hold each cheek of your ass in my hand and feel the weight of lust in my hands. I'd boounce them. Giggle them, and play with them.

maybe even give'm some slaps and pinches too....

I'd do the same with your tits too. :)

I started writing poetry and stories in high school. For me it's almost like a form of therapy. It helps me get through some very stressful times as well as rejoice in some of life's joyous moments. I find that when I'm happy the stories come to me quite easily.

I keep my words to myself because they are very personal. I'm not sure if others would understand.

I've always had one hell of an imagination, but I'd never thought about writing.
Then I met a guy online in a completely different type of forum, we clicked, and eventually started comparing notes on fantasies and stuff.... we swapped experiences, and cybered, and then I wrote my first story. And had such fun!! And he loved it, and other people liked it, so now I'm always thinking of my next story... only erotic stuff so far, but maybe I'll diversify at some point, who knows? Not me <grin>
