What has Literotica, or the people here, taught you, or shown you that you did not know before. If it's embarassing or such post under an assumed name or unregistered, I don't mind. Just curious... read nosey.

I decided to post under an assumed name so as to not get flamed for being so blunt. I've learned that there are a lot of very strange people in this world and most of them seem to gravitate to this Board. I'm not used to being the sanest person in the room.

I feel a lot better now that I've got that off my chest and without anyone being aware of who I am normally on the Board.

In my relatively short time at Lit, and most importantly, i've relearned the value of online communities. I was pretty numbed to the prospect, truthfully, when i arrived seeking a place in which to rest a bit while i tried to pull the shattered bits and pieces of my life back together. I'd forgotten how incredibly supportive and emotionally bolstering such a community could be.

In my experience, many - most - online communities not like Lit; most are more fractious. Allowing for differences in flavor, however, there are other places in which each of us could find another "home", though we'd all have to go through the painful and awkward process of being newbies again. If Lit closed today, never more to open, we'd all scatter to the far edges of the slipstream, searching for another such place. All those who kept at it would eventually immerse themselves in a new home. No place would ever be Lit again, though.

I sincerely hope the gods weren't listening to you Merelen, don't know the soft smoothness of our contentment with Lit, and so don't close it down.
