There have been quite a few such threads on the GB, which didn't diminish their impact or overall quality, even if they were posted alongside other types of threads.

The problem that I personally would have with such an approach, would be that it forces one to compartimentalize themselves and switch continuously between boards. For me, that would suck the fun out of it.
Whereas the GB allows you to pick and choose whatever you like, whenever you like.

Laurel's is about free speech. If you don't like hearing opposing views too bad. If someone insults you she doesn't care. That is how it should be.

She does step in if you post other's personal info, use other's pic when they have you been asked not not to. Or you to decide to become a stalker to a particular poster.

There is a fine line between being an asshole and merciless stalking. Laurel walks that line quite well. I have seen it happen.
