My friend brought by his Emmy a couple of days ago. I held it up and said, "Hey, they spelled 'Sciences' wrong." He freaked.

So, have you heard that Judy Garland's husband keeps trying to sell her Oscar, but MGM won't let him (because they had an agreement with her for first refusal to buy it back for ten bucks). It's always sad when you hear of an Oscar being sold.

I think they should let him sell it.

Someone would like to have it if he doesnt.

You know it is really sad when you hear of someone,,,who was part of,,,a Superbowl team...a World Series winner...a Heavyweight Champion...a World Champion Cowboy....getting so down on thier "luck" or whatever the case may be...to be in a position to have to sell thier ring...or thier belt or thier buckle.....something they work so long and hard to achieve

Not being that bright I thought I'd comment on this subject just to prove it.

I agree with DCL except that I would say Olympic Medal instead of Oscar. It always depresses me that an Olympic medal winner has to or feels the need to sell their medal.

They spelled "Sciences" wrong? How did they spell it, then???

LOL I was kidding him. He was regaling us with stories about the whole Emmy Awards, holding court, and I just threw that out and cracked everyone up.

I couldn't say they spelled his name wrong, because the band that has his name (which you then fit around the base of the statue), hadn't arrived yet.

So if you could buy the emmy of some brilliant long gone hollywood starlet you wouldn't?
