No Jealousy at all, I wouldn't want to moderate anything at this site if you paid me, with all the shit that goes on.

My point was, if Laurel wanted a moderator for this board, then why didn't she pick someone that paid a few visits before they were made moderator.

Lovetoread would have been a great choice as she spends many hours here giving out some great advice, as would Lovechild27, or even Lustengine, who may not always know the answer, but will give forth a view.

Just a thought for next time a moderator gets chosen. Would you put someone that never visited the BDSM board, or practised BDSM as a Moderator of the site?

Oh, and I can see many threads on this board that have nothing to do with "How to", will they too be removed?

A very good answer to my question, and now I can see why it was you that was chosen. You obviously carry style. Something this board needed. You see I don't visit other boards besides here and the BDSM board, and seeing how many posts you'd made had me wondering just what you had contributed to this board.

I also think that having someone that isn't so "close" to the board, may just help with the "how to" section. This board has needed help for some time now.

Congratulations on your position, and I now look forward to reading some good honest posts by you and others.

The BDSM board and the How-To board aren't the same in that regard. BDSM is a lifestyle, whereas the How-To board is not.

When we're looking for a moderator, we look for someone who can be fair, who will remove only spam and off topic stuff, who's trustable and won't be heavy-handed. In the case of the BDSM board, we also wanted someone who was interested in the lifestyle. With How-To, there's not that issue.

Draaah has been around Lit a while. She's very fair. She's a mature lady who I feel can handle the job without being heavy-handed. All she'll do is remove spam and personal info, and move off-topic stuff over to the GB - in short, restore the How-To section to its former unique self.

No one from the How-To section ever PM'd me and expressed an interest in Mod'ing. Usually, that's how a Mod is chosen - someone writes me saying, "I frequent the SRP board, and have noticed a lot of spam there. I care about the forum and would like to help..yada yada..." Had someone from the How-To section expressed an interest, I would've gladly given them the position. No one did. As such, there was a need, and we asked a favor of someone we were familiar with.

They won't be removed, per se. We'd like to move the non-How-To stuff to the General Board to keep this from becoming General Board #2. I try to keep an eye on everything, but I don't succeed. When I popped over her recently, I was astonished at the amount of non-How-To stuff that was happening. I needed a Mod. I asked Draaah if she would do the site a favor and Mod. She said yes.

Like you said, being a Mod sucks donkey nuts. It's not a perk or a bonus - it's a pain-in-the-ass, thankless job. I didn't give the duty to Draaah because she's my buddy and I wanted to be nice to her. If anything, I'm imposing on her because I know she's responsible enough to handle the job.

If you have a problem with the Mod-ing on this board, feel free to PM her with the specifics.

Mnay thanks for the consideration, but you've also nailed it on the head. I hardly even come close to knowing even HALF of the answers here. I'm more than willing to post a comment or two but I'm hardly Moderator material.

I think Laurel has done a fine job with choosing Draaah. I've yet to run into any problems but then I'm hardly a person to play good cop/ bad cop. I'm here to enjoy, interject an opinion or two and that's about the extent of my business here. I've met some wonderful folks here and read some difficult stuff too but I tend to stay away from conflicts here. Like Laurel says, it's a tough job and quite frankly I don't envy the person that has to moderate this Board.

But I do throw all kinds of accolades to the folks brave enough to do it though & hopefully I'll stay out of your way when you need to take action.

I can't say as I blame you there Lust E. I think we all see where that sort of response leads to. I tend to stay away from all of the shit slinging too. My life has enough problems in it without adding that to it.
