I was wondering...

Did you receive them as e-mails, via Literotica's feedback-delivery system? Then, yes, you can e-mail them back. And probably should. Readers like to hear back from writers. :)

As to why it gave you their e-mail address and not their Literotica handle: well, if it came via e-mail, then that's how you contact them back. ;) But also, not everyone who reads on this site has signed up for a membership. It's a free-access site, remember.

If they just posted something on your story's feedback board, I'm not sure what the etiquette is. I reply to the people who leave e-mail addresses there. Most of them don't. (Frankly I'm tempted to disable those boards for my own stories: they just seem to facilitate reader laziness, which is a quality I find irritating to deal with.)

Hey, love to see your posts. :)

But "reader laziness?" There are requirements to be an acceptable reader here? I read for ages before (yes, I know it's dumb!) I even had the nerve to vote. Took me ages to realize I didn't have to belong to vote. And post a comment? You've got to be kidding! (Hard to believe now, but it's true.) Until I joined in order to submit a story, I had only communicated with one writer, and I was overwhelmingly moved by her story. We still email today. I had no idea that I was a 'lazy reader' all those years!

I don't think a readerowes either a vote or a comment to the author. It's especially nice if they take that step--and when I respond to someone who e-mails a comment to me, I say that off the top--but there's no vote/comment contract between a reader on this board any story contributor. Certainly doesn't have anything to do with "laziness," I don't think.

I don't think there's a contract that The Reader has to write you an essay. I do think there's a contract that, if The Reader writes you anything, you have to write back. And that's hard when that feedback consists of "liekd th story thx". I mean, what kind of response can you give to that? "You're welcome, please drive through"? I like interacting with readers (as an author) and writers (as a reader), but leaving a comment on the board is the social equivalent of a mumbled greeting as you avoid eye contact. o_O

Geez luvamartini2, I might've joked about it with my friends after copious wines, but actually going there? Ewww... Sorry if I'm being offensive, or judgemental, this is my first forum post. Isn't bestiality banned on this site? You'd be better off with a vibrator with all the bells and whistles. Much more satisfying, sanitary, and devoid of all sick, guilty feelings.
