this is one of those late night pondering threads from when i've woken up and dont want to go straight back to bed ... im sure everyone will just ignore this thread (is probably best idea)


the age of consent for homosexuals in england is 18 ... for straight sex its 16 ... well i was under the age of consent for homosexual sex (would of been ok if was straight sex) when i first had sex with lisa ... from that moment on we were a couple and dating and although living in different countries we did have holidays together and more sexual things happened ... it felt like the most normal and natural thing in the world and we never thought about if it was illegal or not ... never thought about lisa being slightly older (felt like we were same age more or less)


we waited till i was 18 until we told my family everything and it all went fine ... i think we're both very mature people


but i also think perhaps i am a hypocrite because if a guy dated my under age daughter (when if i have a daughter) i would be very angry if they had sex when she was under age


perhaps rather then me being a hypocrite it just highlights the fact of having two age of consents for straight/gays doesnt work does anyone else have an opinion

It's ok for a man to perform cunnilingus on a woman at 16, but not for a woman to do the same thing?

You are mentioning a very interesting problem and you make proof of big honesty by recognizing that you would not approve under-age sex for your (theoretical) daughter!

The age of consent is an artificial legal definition, as you know there is very mature youngs at 16 and very immature at 18 and even 20!
Probably, the two different ages of consent are due to the intent of the legislators to protect minors from homosexual relations, which are considered by current morality (and religion) to be 'wrong'.

Many US states have laws that say homosexual sex is illegal period. I don't think any have anything about age of consent for homosexual sex. Rarely is anyone charged using these laws but it does happen sometimes. Normaly an agressive DA will use these or other sexual laws as additional charges for someone. They caught a person doing on illegal thing and charged them with that and then found them doing sodomy or some other illegal sex act and brought those in as well.

States have different ages for the age of consent and some have different ages for the man then for a woman. STG talked about the Mann act a while back. I think it said the age of consent at 18 for the whole country. Depending on the area someone who would not be breaking a state age of consent law might be charged under the federal one.

i must admit though that if it was a 40 yr old woman/man having sex with a 16yr old same sex girl/boy that would be very wrong

but yet again i think a 40yr old having straight sex with a girl/boy is wrong anyway

perhaps why lisa and i is ok in my eyes is because our age was pretty close together

I always thought it was blatant discrimination to have the homosexual age of consent at 18 rather than 16, but it seems that it won't be legislated for a long time. I remember a few years ago when it was a big issue, and thinking that the reasons behind it were farcical, but I can't even remember them now!
