I'm so smart. I showed up for my job interview a week before it was supposed to happen. Here i was, dressed all nice, knocked on the door.

"Can we help you?" the lady said.

"I'm here for an interview at eleven," I answered smoothly, like the cool, completely together individual I was pretending to be. "I think it's about 10:55" I added.

The woman shut the door for a moment, then peeked her head around again.

"What's your name?" she asked.

I told her.

"Your interview isn't until next week," she said. I think that's the moment I died.

Lord give me the strength to show up again next week!

Hey, maybe they will see it that you really REALLY want that job. It could be a good thing.

Go for it Chicklet - just walk back in there next week like you own the place.

That's what I did recently and was offered the job the next morning. I got tired of being nervous, etc. Although I was only 20 minutes early not a week@

Good Luck!!:rose:

rub it in why don't you ;)

I'm afraid they'll think that I'm a giant dork...which...I am...but still

oh, plus...

In order to get to this interview I had to skip half my shift at my current job-from-hell. The girl that said she'd cover me didn't show up, and the manager didn't want me to leave. I figured to hell with them, this interview is important, and I walked out on my shift.

Next week, when the interview was supposed to happen, I had that day off....

They won't think you're a dork. Just a girl who knows what she wants!!

Exactly! Think of it as a demonstration of your enthusiasm and initiative.

thanks

I haven't had a job interview in almost a year. And I thought I was nervous BEFORE! I figure I have to play with this mistake, poke fun at myself. Hopefully I'll win them over with charm, if not my ability to read a calendar.

Chicklet belive it or not that maybe just what gets you the job.

I went to over 30 interviews in one year I tryed to be flawless and profecinal. didn't get a one of them.

I finaly went for my last.... I triped on the floor, the bosses were in there 20's so I didnt know they were the ones that would be interviewing me so instead of being perfecinal I was "myself" acting like an idiot. then interview starts and they walk in ...... oops

I felt so embarised and though well i'm net getting this fucking job
so when they asked I went right ahead and told them my faults instead of trying to hid them.... what the hell i'm not getting this job anyways.

next day got the call...... your hired.

why? casue of the way I acted.

showing up on the wrong day may show these people
1) your human you make mistakes and admit to them (that's what companys like don't hide your mistakes)
2) You have initative....... and will be there when they need you.

good luck next week girl.

Fly that is a great story!

I really do want this job. Thanks everyone for cheering me up = )

Hopefully my interview will go smoothly, and I won't be so poor anymore!

thanks stranger

do you think you could come to Eugene and do the interview for me?

Go for it they will think nothing of you being a week early.
Go back tomarrow to and sit and wait thet'll hire you before interview.

Last year when looking for work had reference from very good friend who owns a CPA firm and went to an interview with major national corporation. All went well, had second interview, in meantime went talked to friend and he offered me position with his firm, told him I was waiting to hear back from company that let him know. Turns out he bumbed my refernce on me so he could hire me.
