Point taken, but I'd still appreciate any advice in case my instincts have led me astray. For example, are there certain sites you've had good results with? Is it better to be one-sentence brief in your profile, or write a couple of meaningful sentences? I've had lots of responses from men, so I'm thinking that perhaps I need to re-target toward a female audience...I'm just not sure what women other than myself are looking for.
