Some info for the newbies:

Lots of old time Litsters will bitch about avatars and especially hate dollies... but ina time long ago, when people first started using avs, the majority had dollies. This was sadly before my time but it rests heavy on the souls of the old.

In the pre-Lavy days, most female Litsters had dollies. Some of the guys did too. A rare few resisted the impulse to have no AV whatsoever.

A dollie was my first av as well.

Ah, Lavy, but you're listing mostly old-timers who stuck around. The majority of the women had dollies at some point, which eventually led to a dollie backlash. Also, you are listing half men, which as I said didn't have dollies as often. Some though, like Xander and Scylis, did.

As I recall, the dollies were the first AV's. Before them, there were no AV's, and only after they were around for awhile did people start adding pictorial AV's and other things.

Yup, I had no av at all until a day or so after 9/11/01. With the exception of this week, it has remained pretty much the same ever since.

p.s. I hated those damn dollies, too. Never had one, never will.
