I think I'm addicted to Laurell K. Hamilton books

I'm afraid that she wont be able to write fast enough.

I already have to wait another year for the 3rd book in the Merry Gentry series.

And I started on the Anita Blake series, but its only taking me a day to read each book. I'm having to set a limit on my reading.

Another sign that I'm addicted is that all of the other books I'm trying to read to pass the time are pale in comparison. *big frownies*

Nike, I just got the newest Anita book early for my birthday!! OMG is it fantastic. As for Merry - I didn't know she had another coming out! When?!?

I got so hooked on Anita, I figured Merry couldn't be as good. Thank God I was wrong.

The only problem is: I'm a natural speedreader, so I read Cerulean Sins in about 3 hours. *sigh* and now I'm back to rereading them in order...

Nice to see another fan!

And I know about reading other books. Once you've had Anita...*sigh*

I've been hooked on the Anita Blake books for years. The others have left me a little blah, and I'm not too keen on them. But the Blake series? Very good stuff there. :D

Yes, yes, me too! I am about 100 pages into Cerulean Sins, and all I want to do is find a quiet room, a lamp, and a comfortable chair. I read the Merry Gentry books and they were okay, but Anita Blake... Ah, she is my hero. And the more violent and kinky the better. Sometimes I think it scares my husband, this fascination I have with vampires.

I was kind of surprised that Cerulean Sins came out. For some reason I assumed that she had stopped writing Anita Blake books. Thank God I was wrong.

Good lord, don't get me started. I need to re-collect them.

I had most of them too, but at one time or another, I sold them all. Stupid, I know...

None of my favorite authors can write fast enough for me. Luckily, there are quite a few on my "good reads" list to keep me at least somewhat satisfied.

Just to help here, if you want to collect the whole series, there's a relatively easy and inexpensive way to do it.

The Sci-Fi Book Club has collected the first eight books of the series into three hardbacked volumes. They're pretty good quality, and will cost you less than buying all eight books in paperback.

Aside from that, SFBC is a pretty good deal for Sic-Fi, Fantasy, and even Vampire and Werewolf books by other authors.

I have all three volumes myself and I think it cost me a total of 35 dollars (or something close). :)

I've moved so much, I've lost all but a few of my huge collection of books - I've had to donate/sell/give away so many of them just for lack of room. A lot of them were left behind with my sister and my mom in NY when I moved to California.

I need to re-collect all of my Stephen Kings, LKH and VC Andrews. (I insist on getting all the new VCAndrews books even though it's some ghostwriter now, just because. I'm weird.)

I'm also in the process of making a list of every childhood book I ever loved and buying them, like The Phantom Tollbooth, the Narnia books, etc.

I love the Anita Blake books. I've just finished re-reading the whole series just to refresh my memory for the new one. I have a Barnes and Nobel gift certificate burning a hole in my pocket...I can't wait until tomorrow. :D

And before you ask, no, I am not named after that Raina. :D

Angel, I picked up a couple of the Anita Blake paperbacks in a thrift store the other day. Which ones do you need? If they're the ones I have duplicates of, I'll send them to ya.

I actually have zero right now. I know that I have Obsidian Butterfly and Narcissus in Chains somewhere, I just haven't been able to find them in the past 5 months.

I'll have to check. I know they're not those two, but they're in my boyfriend's car at the moment. I'll get back to you on which ones they are. I picked up 3 of them and I think only one of them was one I didn't have, so two of them are yours if you want them.

Whenever I see them at thrift stores or garage sales for 50 cents I grab them, even if I have them...I'm a true addict. :D

Thank YOU! I have a grand total of 4 books right now in the new apartment and I don't get paid til the 20th - so I'm drooling for something to read right about now.

;)

 Only 4 books!! I'll rescue you. :D

I guess I shouldn't tell you that I'm a terrible procrastinator. My mom's birthday was 2 weeks ago and her present is still sitting here. I promise not to put mailing this off. Now I have more motivation to go to the post office because I'll have 2 packages to mail.

*chants* I will not procrastinate, I will not procrastinate....

Raina, I have to say, everytime I see your nic, I think of her...

lol

I thought of that when I picked it, but I wanted it anyway. If I was like that particular Raina, I think I'd be posting on the BDSM forum a lot more. :D

I happened to find her first Merry book sitting unsupectingly on a library shelf a couple years ago. I thought Hamilton was a refreshingly different kind of writer. I've not made it through the Anita series yet.

Laurell K Hamilton

I love these books. I have read and reread both series at least 4 times in the last 3 months.

I just can't help myself.

*sighs*

Suggestion

May I suggest more vampire erotica by the author Chelsea Quinn Yarbo, she pens the St. Germain series which chronicle the travels of an immortal vampire from ancient Eqypt to the present day. There is actually a subseries about one of his lovers-now vampire, Olivia whom he took over in ancient Rome.....

Either way, thanks ;)I'll make it up to you somehow.

5of7...I'll have to check those out.

I just went to the bookstore and bought Cerulean Sins.

I called first:

Me: Do you have the new Laurell K Hamilton book, Cerulean Sins, just came out in hardcover?

Bookstore Person: Hmmmm... let me check...

~ silence ~

BP: Yes, here it is, we have one copy.

Me: QUICK!! Take it off the shelf!! Go now!! I'll be there today to pick it up!

BP: Ummm... ok...

I'm sure the bookstore person thought I was crazy.

I don't care, I've got it now.
