I think some people would be up for having a discussion about these issues. Although the 'fat' topic is a "touchy" one for many. Still, I think it could be done. However, you have to be careful about how you conduct yourself in such discussions. Namecalling isn't going to help your argument - at all. They may spew it first at you, but playing along and throwing names back inflames the discussion, which is not a good thing. These are just my observations. Just like any topic (e.g. religion, politics), one has to be ready to respond to emotional, misled, misinformed, and opposing opinions.
