I see died suddenly trending on Twitter. Seems healthy young people

When I was young and at school, we would expect one or two students to die each term out of a school of 1,200. It was 'normal'.

For my parent's generation, born in the 1900s, child mortality was very common. My parents had twelve children. Only five survived beyond age two.

When I was the personnel manager for a company of 1,000, we would expect at least one person to die before retirement almost every year. Some years were none, some were more than one.

Modern medicine has made such deaths unusual, but for previous generations, it was expected.

Sorry, we are talking about now, not yesteryear.

You might be. What I am saying is that today's sudden deaths are historically very few.

As I child I went to more funerals than weddings.

Edited for PS: It is also a function of 24/7 media coverage. In the 1950s we would never have known about a sudden death, or even a murder unless there were unusual aspects, in the next town, certainly not in the next county or country.

There could have been a major earthquake killing hundreds. We'd never know if it was in a foreign country.

It's always good to hear the Moderna booster is banned in your age group after you got so messed up you had to take the day off work the day after you got it.
