I've used email notices to access LIT since I started here but the last few days I've not been able to access LIT via the emails the below message is all I can get.

Your email message has been idle and this link has become inactive. To access the link, close this window and return to your Message. Then click the browser's Refresh button or close your message and reopen it.

This even happens with fresh emails just in.

Any help will be a big help to this puta dummy.

From one putah dummy to another

Maybe you need to clear out your temporary internet files?

Maybe you're using AOL email and the links don't work?

Maybe you're not online???

try hitting refresh. possible disable pop up blockers or adjust firewall

Again no luck but thanks for posting.

I've used my emails to access LIT from day one & up till 2 days ago all was fine with no hassles at all & now my only access is via the site then the links to the boards.

Gil what do you use to access your email? OE? Outlook or is it webmail?
Depending on which, go into the email settings or properties and look around to see if there is an idle time setting, if so it might be set at a very low number so when you open your email page but don't check it really soon it goes idle.
Also, many of not most folks don't clear temp internet files the best way, they click a "clear cookies" button and think their all gone, not so.
If you use EI, in the toolbar click tools/internet options/ then under the temperary internet files header click settings, not clear cookies and let that page open. Once it does again in the toolbar click edit then select all and then hit the delete key on the keyboard. It might ask are you sure you want to delete all files, click yes. Once that's done close it out and reboot.

Temp Internet files are junk and deleting them all won't screw anything up. The only thing they do is make the loading of a page go faster the second time you visit a site and so on. The same goes for the temp folder. Their junk that can be tossed out and clear up space.
The most you'd need to do once they get deleted is re-enter a password of a site you visit often, such as lit.

Temp Internet files WILL bog you down once they reach a high amount. If a person spends an average of 3 hrs a day online and visits 3 to 5 sites, you can expect to gather upwards of over 3000 of them in 2 days time and that will slow you down, a lot in most cases.

One sure sign that you need to clear them out is if you start seeing a shadow screen when you change pages or sites. What I mean by this is that for a few moments after you change from say your homepage to Lit, you see your homepage still in shadowed areas but it's faint. If you see this these files need emptied and a defrag would be a good idea also, and always reboot after a defrag.
