Gonna have my phonetics exam on Wednesday.

It'll be 90 minutes.

2 tasks:
1.) question on theory
2.) transcribtion - 90 words, 19 mistakes maximum allowed

Then the week after I'll have an oral exam: Reading of a prepared text.

I'll have to pass all three parts, theory, transcribtion and reading.

And I think I'll need a miracle to pass transcribtion and reading.

So guys, make the miracel happen please and think of the lil Beagle on Wednesday, 6 p.m. Standard European.

Well, it went okay I guess. The theory-part was okay. I should have passed that. Some multiple-choice questions that were tricky but all in all I should have made the points needed.

The transcription was tougher. 81 words, that measn 8 mistakes allowed. The text was kinda difficult. Some tricky words. I know for a fact that I got 4 mistakes already. But there'll be more. I mis-transcribed "pupilz", "secondary" and "Council". I'm not sure about "inappropriate", I transcribed it the way it's done in 'Received Pronunciation' but I was transcribing 'GeneralAmerican' so I don't know whether there is a different form.

All in all it went okay.

Now on Tuesday, I got my oral exam. Reading a text. If I pass that I'm the happiest Beagle on the planet. I think I'm average in pronunciation and reading. BUT I do have major problems with the rhotic "R" in 'GenAm'. It just seems that this might be the one thing that will make me fail. But if I passed the written exam, I won't have to redo the entire class.

So, will keep you updated.
