I need some help Quickly!

I've been trying and trying everything I know to get an image onto a post not as an attachment.
Can someone help me? My post I need it for is hanging there waiting for me to finish it.

nothing I do makes it show on the other post I need it for. All I see is the text.
I sure would appreciate some help.

Thanks for jumping in here! Ok, I've copied this all down, THANK YOU VERY MUCH. But I have a question about it (LOL sorry) I only want the picture on one post. If I put it in my sig line then I'll have it with me where ever go... Right?

Ok, is the image you want to post on a website somewhere, or on your PC? if its on a website somewhere, you can post it into your post, if its on your PC, you can only attach it.

Last thing we need is to add it into your sig line. a lot of folks have their sig line option turned off...for obvious reasons....

I finally went and put it somewhere else and linked to it so I got it to work.
I'm still curious why I couldn't link to the attachment here at Lit.
The Link worked right from the other site.

First I had attached it on a post here at lit. Then I wanted to use it on another post (in view, not attached) I've read that you could link to an attachment here but I couldn't get it to work.
So I did go and put it on a website so I could get this done tonight.
LOL no I don't want anything else added to my sig line.

Thats a "band-width" issue. Manu has set up the bulletin board that way, otherwise, every man and his dog would be posting pictures with every post, and that takes a lot of bandwidth and pages would take forever to load. This way, you have the option, If you want see the pic, YOU click the link, if not, you skip straight past it.

Hope that answers the question.

you ppl have the coolest AV's and little pics and smileys and all sorts of cool grapics ....... my home discussion board dont have any of this..... i spend half my time looking at the graphics and wondering how i could turn them into stationery.

Reyna, you need 100 posts before you can have an AV. The smileys are part of the V-Bulletin code , and the pics and poems and stuff you see in sig-lines can be added in too, its all in your User Options. The Playground Board is full of stuff like that. A lot of the GB'ers frown on 6 foot sig-lines and multi flashing, rotating, graphics on each and every post you make.

must be the timing i tried to visit here before but felt a bit like a wall flower someone said they needed me to show them a pic of me so I did attach one and then a few ppl talked to me but not really a warm greeting like you just gave me and I am grateful for this. Thanks again.

and ManHunter yes... I did use incredimail for a while ..... I think my mistake was when i loaded it , it asked if i wanted to transfer all mail from other acct. there, and I picked that choice when perhaps i should have chosen "make a new account" maybe I could try again ?
and yes E mail stationary thats what i mean. I love to make my own stationary I have made some if you want I can send them to you . I am still trying to figure out how to turn a small AV into 8x10 or whatever pic for stationary ....... any ideas.?

What program do you use your stationary in? (wondering if it will format to IM) Oh and yes I think you should try it again. LOL I'm just an avid fan of it and think the whole world should use it.

I use Paint Shop Pro for my graphic stuff. Changing an av size to an 8x10 I think is impossible. Just not enough pixels to grow that big. Course the other way around is a snap.

You couldn't link the ttachment withthe IMG tags bcause attachments are not images -- the URL ends with 'PHP' instead of an "image filetype."

Attachments will display in signature lines because you can use HTML coding in your signature. HTML codoing doesn't work in the body of your posts, because Manu has it turned OFF. He also has the attachments configured to always show as links instead of images becuase displaying the images was causing a serious slowdown in all of the BB responses and not just the threads with several attachments.
