In the place where I work, I met a woman about my age.
We've been
friendly and even had lunch together (accidentally),
but the only
time I really see her is in the building lobby. Last
week, we
exchanged e-mail addresses, so I know she's
interested. I want to
get closer, but every time I come up with a flirty
e-mail, I erase it
before I send it. I'm terrible at this stuff. Can
anyone here help
me out on this?

There's a long history of folks getting someone else to speak for them... and it never works out. Frankly, I think what you wrote is great. If you aren't good at flirty, do you really want a woman who wants it?

I dunno... I think if you're bad at flirting, you can get better with some practice and some work. I'm not saying you need to change your whole personality to become Captain Flirtatious, but having the ability to let someone know you're interested in a subtle way is always a good thing. Guys and gals who can't flirt are missing out, in my opinion.

Do you know any of her specific likes? Can you send something with a casual-but-witty joke into it, maybe by referencing something that happened between the two of you? Some news she'd be interested in? It can really be as small as that....

invite her to share one...an art gallery, a bike ride...something public and safe.

the email might read "Hey, I saw that there is a Jane Smith exhibit at the Gallery. I thought I might go Saturday afternoon. Would you like to meet me there around 2, maybe go for coffee after?"

or invite her for a non accidental lunch.
