I have written something but, as a guy, I wanted to see if the story and the way it is written would appeal to women as well.
It is short and will not get posted to my work until I am happy that it would rwqch the widest audience.
Any takers? Please pm me and I will send it to you.
Thank you

This forum is really for commenting on stories that have been published on Lit.
What you're looking for is a beta reader - try the Editor's Forum.

Also, since you've already published stories here, why not add a link to your stories in your signature:

hey hi...... you are a old member of the literotica.

I wanted to ask, whether we can start a story as a thread her on the forum, has someone tried that ?

No.

Every story on Lit has to be submitted to the site editor, who vetts it against the site content policies. Submitting content in the forums, when seeking advice, is limited to three paragraphs.

You don't really need input from a woman, and folk might look askance at you when you say that.

Just submit the story and find out for yourself.

If you plan to "write for widest audience", be aware that's possibly not the best strategy. The audiences here at Lit are a multiplicity, and no single story will please everyone, so it's foolish to try. You're better off tightening it up a bit so it targets a category more tightly. Which is why the categories exist - picking your favourite kink and writing a story about it works better than asking, "What might an audience want?"

As an aside, that question usually gets answered in two ways: 1) give me more of the same; or 2) give me something different. Hence the problem with the question.

When it comes to male authors writing believable and realistic female characters, it has been my experience that the most successful are older, married for a long period (even if ultimately divorced) and have raised or are raising daughters.

I don't immediately get my panties in a twist if an author writes unbelievable female characters. For me it's about motive. Sometimes you can simply tell the author is writing his females in a manner  he wishes was reality, either in the work or the real world. Ultimately it comes down to themes for me. The all women love to be dominated and secretly want to be ravished by an intruder with an 8" steel pipe does tend to piss me off though. :)

Seriously though, I really do believe older male authors who have been married for decades tend to do a faily good job, not wll the time but usually. Qhml1 comes to mind.
