Normally not something that would fill me with great glee, as I'm not a huge fan of belts, but atm it's good news.

Cause I bought a pair of jeans 4 weeks ago and had to buy a 36" waist. Which I was not happy about. Now, however, after my recent fitness kick, it's easy to take them down without undoing the button. I'm back to my usual 34" waist! Huzzah!

Now, if I can just get another ocuple of ridges on my sixpack, then I'll be a happy bunny.

D'you know, I was thinking something quite different when I saw that title!

As to your text, yes that is a very impressive erg score. What drag was it set on? We'll have to go to the gym when you come home next and compare technique!

Well if you don't wanna buy a belt, you can now find reasons to get out of your pants ;) No doubt, that six pack would help.

And yeah, I first thought something else when I read the title of the thread

You mean this isn't someone who wandered away from the BDSM cafe? Damn! Congratulations on the inches lost. Sure makes you feel great to see hard work rewarded doesn't it?

Hey, Pops, I'm done with slim. I'm keen on blokes who've lived to outgrow their trousers.

Perdita & co.  :p

It's amazing how many people could use a good belt but don't know it. At least The Earl understands his need.

*smack*

Good belts can be fun.

I have one of the jeans holdy-uppy type, but it also serves another purpose. *evil grin*

Is this where the line forms to spank The Earl? :catroar:

You might want to consider this for a theme song, Earl...

"I love the way you look at me
I love the way you smack my ass
I love the dirty things you do
I have control of you"

"Control" -- Puddle Of Mudd

Just looked it up:

An Earl is the third highest rank of nobility below direct royalty (technically third, but actually second as Dukes are always Princes). An Earl is not always directly hereditary, but can be invested by a sovereign, thus making it the highest title that a commoner could aspire to. When an Earl is invested by the sovereign, it is by presentation of a sword, which is girded around his waist - hence the term a belted Earl - an Earl who has wears a belt to carry his sword.

Also an Earldom is one of the few heraldric peerages that can be passed through female lines. This commonly happens in Scotland and the longest line of Earls north of the border, the Earldom of Mar is currently held by a woman.

The Earl of Literotica

PS. Now, who's gonna trump me and declare themselves a Marquis?

I'd declare myself Marquis but I prefer to remain a ronin.

I don't want to sound conceded here. Not only do I need a new belt, mine is almost fallen apart, but I need a new set of trousers. The ones I own now are a 32 waist, and entirely too big. I have to add about three notches on a 32 belt just to wear them. Hence the belt falling apart and me needing a new one. I honestly need to wear about a 28/32 or a 28/34. The thing is, in men's clothing, it's very difficult to find that combonation. I'm happy to get a 30/32, but that far too often is a challenge to find.

Around July of last year I was thinking I needed to buy some new pants too. But a little different. I was thinking I was going to have to move to 42" from 40". Well, Right now my 38" are loose. And I bought those just a couple months ago.

The funny thing is, I wasn't trying to lose weight really. I just was tired of feeling out of shape. Five years in a desk job had really affected the athletic build I used to carry.

Anyway, I feel better than I have in at least those five years and more likely ten. I lost 35 lbs. 17% of my current body weight. But I look like I have lost more, because of how I lost it. Not diet, but exercise.

weight loss seems to be quite the subject in the AH today....wonder why?

It is possible that they're all subconsciously looking forward to summer.
Difficult for me to think the same with the darn snow outside

And yeah talking about the pounds you shed definitely boosts your ego more than admitting to gaining weight...

Bah. A marquis is merely a human. I, sir, am a horse.

A noble steed, indeed.

What mere human has been valued at a Kingdom?

:rose:

I am a King but as I am long dead the tables of precedence do not apply.

A King's ashes are worth no more than anyone else's. The container they are in might have been more valuable but my ashes were dust in the Bekaa valley thousands of years ago. Even my renowned bed has been lost.

At least my enemies remembered me enough to keep reminding themselves that they defeated me and even made up songs about it.

Instead of being remembered as a dead defeated King, I think that there are other people who have much more precedence in death than me.

I like to remember and honour the whore Epicharis mentioned by Tacitus in his account of the emperor Nero and the conspiracy against him by Piso.

Epicharis was tortured to divulge the names of the conspirators. She didn't. On the second day of torture, despite being so disabled that she couldn't stand, she managed to hang herself with her bra. The 'noble' conspirators betrayed each other with alacrity even though they were exempt from torture.

Nobility is shown by deeds, not birth. Epicharis was noble.

If you think that's hard to find, try finding a 30/34.
