Zepplin fans...what words really get you going ?

hmmm...well most of their lyrics said something to me...but to be honest Black Dog had the best memories for me.

'Hey hey momma said the way you move.' and so forth.:)

Within the glow that weaves a cloak of delight
there moves a thread that has no end

and also from "All of My Love":

Yours is the cloth, mine is the hand that sews time.

Egads! And the opening of No Quarter!! I can't forget that!

Close the door, put out the light.
You know they won't be home tonight...

*swoons*

Have I ever mentioned my Robert Plant fixation?

Naturally, I like

"We come from the land of ice and snow....."

Oohhhhhh yes! Immigrant Song rocks!! I had a fantastic afternoon to Zeppelin 3 a long, long time ago...*dreamy sigh*

What amazes me (and this is going to show my old age now) is that how timeless their music has been. Perhaps not amazes me since liked it when I first heard them in concert so many years ago. Had all their L.P.s.. God...fantastic music, great lyrics, hot concerts.:cool:

Oh yeah...listening to Black Dog by Led Zep...accoustic version. My son got it for me. (He can play most of their music on the guitar very well btw. Generational music they created. IMPACT to the ages.

You're just taunting me now, C2C. *sniffles*

I love Ramble On, too. The whole song...but I hold a special place in my heart for:

But still, I'm much obliged...such a pleasant stay.

Cuz my record skips in the middle of the word "obliged" so it comes out, "But still, I'm much o...I'm much o...I'm much o..." 'til I bang the record. :D

I have a skip on Flowers in the middle of Ruby Tuesday, too...

I'm a long time Robert Plant fan.

One of my favorite Plant songs is Ship of Fools

I am the pilot of the storm
adrift in pleasure I may drown
i built this ship it is my making
and furthermore my self control I
can't rely on anymore...

and at my feet eternity
draws ever sweeter plans for me..

Did it involve longships and hulking men wearing armor and helmets and wielding axes?

If not, it could not have been THAT fantastic.

Well there's a light in your eye that keeps shining,
Like a star that can't wait for the night.
I hate to think I've been blinded baby,
Why can't I see you tonight.

And the warmth of your smile starts a burning,
And the thrill of your touch gives me fright.
And I'm shaking so much really yearning,
Why can't you show up and make it all right.

And if you promised your love so completely,
and you said you would always be true.
You swore that you never would leave me baby,
What ever happened to you.

And you thought it was only in movies,
And you wish all your dreams would come true.
It ain't the first time believe me baby,
I'm standing here feeling blue.

Now I will stand in the rain on the corner,
I'll watch the people go shuffling downtown.
Another ten minutes no longer,
And then I'm turning around.

The clock on the wall's moving slower,
My heart it sinks to the ground.
And the storm that I thought would blow over,
Clouds the light of the love that I found.

Now my body is starting to quiver,
And the palms of my hands getting wet.
I've got no reason to doubt you baby,
It's all a terrible mess.

And I'll run in the rain till I'm breathless,
When I'm breathless I'll run till I drop.
The thoughts of a fool's kind of careless,
I'm just a fool waiting on the wrong block.

Taunting you in that I have the accoustic version of Black Dog or that I saw them in concert, or that my oldest son can play their music well?

Reminds me...lost my virginity with 'Ship Of Fools' playing in the background. *sigh* wow.

Bron-Y-Aur, Awesome guitar! Favorite Zep tune? 'Babe I'm Gonna Leave You'

"Yes you gotta fine sister,
She brought my blood to boil.
But now I laugh, for so hard
She' swinging on the gallows pole"
Gallows Pole

Crikes, I love all Zeppelin tunes!
:cool:

I lost my virginity to Billy Squier's "Don't Say No" album. LOL

Um...how apropos?

I lost my virginity to Led Zep...I believe the song was Since I've been loving you...

it was a cold wet rainy day, and all we had was this crappy little turntable...

Very...for both of us I think.:eek:

Edited to add...

Robert Plant was hot that night too. my cousin (who got me into the concert) got right up front, dragging me along. She then proceeded to remove her bra, lifted her shirt and showed him. He looked hard for quite a bit. Me? I was stunned. Sworn to secrecy to keep from her parents for-ever. I have been true to my word.

heheh!

*sigh* So many good ones...

You'll be my only, my one and only
Is that the way it should start?

~~~
And in the bars, with the men who play guitars
Singin', drinkin' and rememberin' the times
My little lover does a midnight shift
She's followed 'round all the time
I guess there's just one thing left for me to do
Gonna pack my bags and move on my way
'Cause I got a worried mind, sharin' what I thought was mine
Gonna leave her where the guitars play...
Working seven to eleven every night,
It really makes my life a drag.
I don't think that's right.
I've really been the best of fools,
I did what I could.
Beause I love you baby.
But baby, since I've been loving you,
I'm about to lose my worried mind.
Everybody trying to tell me,
That you didn't mean me no good.
I've been trying let me tell you,
Let me tell you I really did the best I could.
I've been working seven to eleven every night,
It kinda makes my life a drag.
Lord you know it ain't right.
Since I've been loving you,
I'm about to lose my worried mind.
Said I've been crying,
My tears they fell like rain.
Don't you hear,
Don't you hear them falling?
Don't you hear,
Don't you hear them falling?
Do you remember mama when I knocked upon your door?
I said you had the nerve to tell me you didn't want me no more.
I open my front door hearing my back door slam.
You must have one of them new fangled,
New fangled back door man.
I've been working from seven to eleven every night,
It kinda makes my life a drag.
Since I've been loving you,
I'm about to lose my worried mind.
My favorite part is the way he sorta *moans* "Pretty babyyyy"...
And if you say to me tomorrow
Oh what fun it all would be
Then what's to stop us, pretty baby
But what is and what should never be
And another obvious one...
With blazin' eyes I see my tremblin' hands
When we know the time has come
Lose many senses, lose command
Feel your healin' rivers run
Should I fall out of love my fire in the night,
To chase a feather in the wind.
Within the glow that weaves a cloak of delight,
There moves a thread that has no end.
For many hours and days that pass ever soon,
The tides have caused the flame to dim.
At last the arm is straight the hand to the loom,
Is this to end or just begin?
All of my love,
All of my love,
All of my love,
To you now.
All of my love,
All of my love,
All of my love,
To you now.
The cup is raised the toast is made yet again.
One voice is clear above the din.
*Proud Arianne one word my will to sustain,
For me the cloth once more to spin.
All of my love,
All of my love,
All of my love,
To you now.
All of my love,
All of my love,
All of my love,
To you now.
Yours is the cloth mine is the hand that sews time.
His is the force that lies within.
Ours is the fire, all the warmth we can find,
He is a feather in the wind.
All of my love,
All of my love,
All of my love,
To you now.
All of my love,
Oh, yes.
All of my love,
To you now.
All of my love,
All of my love,
All of my love,
All of my love, love.
Sometime,
Sometime,
Sometime,
Sometime.
It's all, all, all, all,
All of my love,
All of my love,
All of my love,
To you now.
All of my love,
All of my love,
All of my love,
To, to you, and you, an you, and yeah.
I've got a little bit of love left.
Just a little bit,
Just a little bit.
Just a little bit of love left,
Just a little bit of love left.
