So I've been debating joining the gym as golf season is down to the short strokes.

The issue is that if I pay a monthly fee, I'll feel obligated to go. That obligation may add a stressor to my life that could, potentially, counteract any physical benefit from going.

Nothing crushes a man's soul more than an obligation.

So is joining the gym just too dangerous?

I've joined gyms before. In my experience, I get tired and go have a beer.

I just go up to the pad in front of the pole barn and practice my weapons kata...

An aside, when I was giving private lessons, we were banging weapons together (arnis practice) and we drew the attention of a very large buck who looked like he was spoiling for a fight. Pretty funny.

You're right....no need to add stress. Just sit in the easy chair till next golf season. Oh, and have a few beers too.

Well, you could go and take classes, that way you could make friends.

have fun trying to break the contract if you ever change your mind.

No more dangerous than stocking up on charcoal for the grill.

Walking long distances and cutting caloric intake cost less than a gym but oh, the optics...
