I cannot stand to be around people. It's almost like an allergic reaction. My stress goes through the roof. I can feel my skin crawl when I have to go out in public. Complete dread starting the night before. I do stores a couple of times a month. As early as I can, as soon as they open at 6 or 7 AM if possible. I'm in. I'm out. Minimal contact with staff. Six feet of separation? Nope. Ten. Or more. Half a day at most and I'm back home. Exhausted. Takes me another few hours to wind down. I don't even unpack the boxes and bags unless food needs to go in the cooler. The rest can wait until after the rest.

As someone who is quite introverted irl I would be in agreement with some of what you've said, people don't tend to stick to social distancing if you're in the way of their favourite can of beans, I'm usually good when somewhere quite spaced out, but I'll admit to having had a few "ah, fuck this" moments while Christmas shopping this year.

The needing to rest thing is just your bodies way of reacting to stress, we all have our own ways of dealing with it

Nope jaF0, you're not alone. My wife and I do everything we can to keep from having to go into town, then we try to get done and get home. The only true DIY store is Lowes and when I have to go there it's as soon as they're open (6:00 AM), I have a list of what I need, get it and get out.

We lived in the desert for a little over five years out where you needed 4X4 to get there and we had our own power system (solar and wind) our own deep water well and a gate with a sign that said, "We came for the solitude, get lost".

Take care!

Sounds eminently sensible to me. There's no right or wrong way to live your life - do it how you need to do 8t.

I was doing the SD thing before SD was a thing. Like 'stay the fuck away from me'. I'll look down an aisle and if I see people, I go to another aisle.
