Listening to P.U.L.S.E. again

For the fifth time in 24 hours...

And I love it soo much.

"And I have become comfortably numb"

"The grass was greener, the lights were brighter"

"All that you touch, and all that you see"

"I've been mad for fucking years, absolutely years..."

SC I just want to give you a big hug and kiss right now. I had that song running through my head all last night.

Shine On You Crazy Diamond

Chef - you should check out the very early psychedelic stuff when mad-hatter, Syd Barrett, was fronting the band ('Piper At The Gates Of Dawn', 'Relics' plus 2 solo albums: 'The Madcap Laughs' and 'Barrett'). He went completely loopy on LSD and ended up living in his mother's attic for years. All the songs on 'Dark Side Of The Moon' and 'Wish You Were Here' are about him.

I used to be real big on the Floyd but haven't listened in a while. Hmmmm I also haven't done drugs in a while. Connections?

Did you hear about those people that worked out that if you listen to 'Dark Side Of The Moon' at the same time as watching 'The Wizard Of Oz' they fit together - lyrics and noises on the album seem to fit exactly with things in the film. LOL. Now there's a bunch of people that need to venture out of the house now and again. Don't Bogart that research grant, Cheech 'n' Chong!

EBW not everyone has to do drugs to listen to music you know. HeH HEH although it does help.

I heard that about Wizard too, but have also heard that if you walk backwards around the Empire State Building under a full moon in the nude you get theree wishes.

I love Pink Floyd, and to surprise some of you, have Syd Barrett's box set. With all the wild and crazy stuff he did solo. Now he is where the phrase "one wild and crazy guy" comes from. Literally. Truly though, without him there wouldn't be a Pink Floyd. He got them started in the direction they took.

Recently we've been pulling out our loder CD's, too. I always liked "Animals"...we had a dog that would bark at the sheep....I'll have to get out the Pink Floyd NOW!!!!

You should know better... I knew all that already.

And I have Ummagumma, but that is a little past Uncle Sid's timeframe

And I did think Meddle was one of his before he left too

I never take drugs and always listen to floyd... now that could be a real worry

Putting "A Momentary Lapse of Reason" in my CD player, pressing play ...

In almost 30 years of listening to Pink Floyd I've never tired of them. Very few hold up to that standard! *smile*

The very first Pink Floyd album I bought was Ummagumma. I knew nothing about them. That same day I also bought King Crimson's first album - "In The Court of the Crimson King" - I bought both because I loved the covers and for no other reason - until I heard what was contained in those covers... WOW! To this day both remain among my favorite bands and both those albums among my favorites. I'm also a proud owner of an original copy of Pipers At The Gates of Dawn.

I have that very tattoo on my forearm, I guess you could say I'm a fan.

Blushing I have that brand above my left breast, more on the shoulder area. An accident when I was ironing a shirt. Yes, I was wearing it at the time. The iron was hotter then expected and I burnt myself with the tip, and jerked. Creating a faint branded symbol of that very same one.

LOL. Ok Merl 'n' da Chef - what's your fave Barrett songs?

I like 'Scarecrow' from 'Piper At The Gates of Dawn' and 'Love You' from 'The Madcap Laughs' cause they're silly and warped.

(BTW - he only did the first album with them before they chucked him out for being too loopy and got his old mate Dave Gilmour in to replace him. The second album 'A Saucerful Of Secrets' has one song by him, and 'Relics', a compilation of early material has a couple of his songs.)

Astronomy Domine...

And you always have to remember...

I know merelan will get wet at this....

David Bowie covered a Syd song on Pin-ups

i may be a young whippersnapper Mr Pluto Monkey...

But I still know all these sick and twisted things you do

And just for the record Astronomy Domine is on Ummagumma too

Haha. Still quite a few years away from my pension, too, you cheeky scamp! And, just for the record - Roger Waters wrote 'Astronomy Domine'. LOL

When I have the CD sitting in front of me, and you still have time to argue???? Talk about cheeky scamp!

I'll have to get that lazer pointer onto you methinks
