I Like 3G

This is my first post as Retrorotica. I like the old, official Literotica Android App. Every time I play with it while offline, I press on story categories such as BDSM and then Femdom. In return, I get Your device does not have a 3G connection or something like that. What ever happened to 3G? I missed out during its existence when I did not have a portable electronic smart phone or smart tablet. I like the fact that 3G is fast enough for what I like. Why was 3G shut down when there are carriers that reduce data speed to a 2G slowness? If carriers can still use 2G as a retrograde after the fast data of a paid plan is used, why can't 3G be allowed instead? I think it is because 3G is fast enough and therefore requires an additional payment, which means 3G is awesome, but they don't want to admit it. It is awesome if it can still be used as a discounted plan in some way.

5G, 4G, 3G etc are not only about the speed, but technology. Companies cannot afford to maintain old equipment forever and that's the reason why they shut it down at some stage. When they slow you down, they do not change you to 2G or another lower G, they just "shape" your traffic.

That, then, is the reason. By shaping traffic, you mean changing the bandwidth or someting similar? I suspected there was a catch to it. The smart phone I am currently using is a Cricket Alcatel TBD, TCL 30Z, 4188C, Android OS 12. There is an option in Settings/Mobile Networks to allow 2G for what you see in the attachment file. Skype Lite is the only app that I know is designed for a weak, poor, slow, or edge connection that could mean Skype Lite can work fast enough with just 2G. I wonder if it is possible to make electronic equipment just for 3G. I remember seeing something in the Walmart online site about a 3G Wi-FI Dongle. I don't know what that is or if it only allows access to a 3G Wi-FI network. Now that I think about it, I remember Google Play has an app called 3G Only. I am going to read about it and study what it does. Only a person who has an intermediate to higher electronics knowledge knows how to make the outdated 3G networks work. Nothing that it old is supported as it costs too much money for companies to keep up support for older technologies, especially as most people continue to update to the newer and better technology - no matter what it is, ie., software, phones, TV's, appliances, etc.

Too few people staying with old technology to make it worthwhile.

It's the same reason that software developers don't support older versions of their software. Too much $$$ for upkeep and not enough $$ coming back in.
