I found some fine sea salt at wal-mart. I just soaked my ear with it. I hope you people are right about healing it.

Sea salt is great - 1/4 teaspoon to 250ml (previously boiled) water.
Biggest thing is to dry the piercing after soaking. I recommend using a hair dryer on the coolest setting to ensure the piercing is completely dry.
Do the soak twice a day.

Sea-salt is the best disinfectant. Use it for sore throats too.

Trust me, we island people know about the powers of sea-salt.

I've always been really lucky in that I kind of ignore my piercings and they still heal perfectly. I'm really bad for being the person the piercer was talking about who doesn't pay attention when they tell me how to take care of it.

You are right - lucky.
It always amazes me that people will go to a dentist and follow all instructions, but when they get pierced they don't see it the same way and ignore them.
Piercing is classed as a minor surgical procedure!
